I can’t wait to riff with my nephew

 

I already don't want kids but you guys are making a good case to confirm I have the right idea

 

American Prospect is doing damn good work and they are doing a whole series on pricing and the shit like this that is happening in the marketplace.

 

idk man the people without kids re saying “that sounds terrible and awful!” And the ones with kids are mostly talking about how much they like it/any hard part is worth it lol

 

I think it’s ok to have different opinions about having or not having children

 

the having/not having kids discourse on this website is just the worst

I mean for all my complaining, I still love the shit out of my daughter and being a parent gave my life structure it needed so it’s not all bad.

 

I am too selfish to have them. I like spending my money on things I need or want and doing whatever I want with my free time. I’m sure it’s cool and fun raising a human and watching them grow and learn but if had to go to a 9am Saturday soccer game to watch my dumbass kid run around and not score a single goal id abandon them at the park

Parenting is a weird paradox where you're doing everything you can to prepare your kids for the day they don't need you anymore while also desperately hoping that day never comes. It's an exhausting amount of work and worry every day, but the rewards are, to me, worth the effort.

All that said, if you know you don't want kids, you're way ahead of some of the parents I know who only figured that out after they had one or two.
