Honestly anything about Sherlock Holmes I think needs to take like a 15 year break. We have had alottt of Holmes stuff the last 15 and it needs a breath.

This isn't even the only Sherlock Holmes adaptation in development. CBS is doing an Elementary spinoff focusing on Watson's medical career after their adventures with Holmes ends, and CW is doing "Sherlock & Daughter" starring David Thewlis.

 

Sherlock Holmes is one of those things where I don't mind there being a lot of different adaptations going on. It's not like it's all a big interconnected universe. If something has a good creative team or a novel idea, I'll check it out (Sherlock, Mr. Holmes) and if not I'll ignore it.
