Social D and RFTC by the sea sounds like a great time, but you couldn’t pay me to spend a week on a boat filled with rockabilly people

 

Don't mind me. I'm just pretty anti-cruise in general. With or without music. The Flogging Molly cruise always has banger line-ups but... I can never pull the trigger because I just imagine it being full of the people who do VIP for PiD or Riot and that's the one show they go to each year and then talk about how "punk is dead" because every new band doesn't sound like Pennywise or whatever.

I would honestly be way more into the idea of cruises if the music started earlier in the day and was basically non-stop. But at that point, why bother going on a cruise? LOL

It says more about me than the cruises itself TBH.

 

It's everybody who thought that one Fred Armisen late show thing about eras of punk and 90s ska was funny on the same boat. With frozen daiquiris and a hot tub. All mansplaining Bob Dylan and car repair over one another.

 

I’ve never been on a cruise but assume I would hate it because I am not a big water person. If I were to ever decide to actually do one of these music cruises, it would almost definitely be the Flogging Molly one.

 

Same! I'm sure there's some other band I'm not thinking of that is big enough to do one that could put something together that I'd be into but... Mostly, it's just not appealing to me. I'd be more apt to do a resort kinda thing, I think, where you'd have more space to roam and get away from the crowds.

Regardless, though, doing something like that for your 40th birthday might be fun with the right bands and people that you bring along with you! Haha. That's an important factor too, I think. I tend to do stuff like that solo or with my partner or a single friend... I'm sure it's different with a bigger group.

 

I love cruising and I hate the water lol

 

this will be my 4th flogging molly cruise, and honestly it's the best time. have only seen one guy be a dick. music starts at like 2pm, and goes way into the night. bands do pop up shows, and are usually walking around the ship. no one camps out on the rail, everyone is genuinely there for the music and community. lineup comes out on thurs finally!

Even if it's already been posted, this line-up is good enough to be posted twice. I could do without Slapshot but this is a rager for the three openers alone.

 

Cheapest tickets to the Jane’s/L&R LA date are $80. Love Jane’s but this might be a pass for me. Ugh.

 

Sucks San diego is the same night as foo fighters in LA. And at a great venue too. I would be down to make the trip for this show

Balance and Composure tour, Coheed tour this summer, and Knocked Loose tour is just wrapping up, musicfan10 is THRIVING

 

I get it but it’s crazy how quickly bands change their mind, literally a year ago they were scheduling some sporadic shows and literally saying “we will never tour again” 11 months later “new tour” but I get it they are bigger now than they ever were so go make that money.

 

I mean, it's 10 days, I always thought they meant "no full US tour" when they said that.
