This sounds A LOT like that House of Protection song recently released, kind of wild.

 

This song reminds me of like, Turnstile meets ... Everclear?

 

Turnstile is better than my reference with Don Broco but I guess I was brought in by the randomness of the video ha.

 

Yeah the Turnstile comp works, there's no riff like their usually is, just a pretty good power chord beat.

 

It’s very Turnstile coded - not just the riffs, but a lot of the vocal stuff they’re doing (0:50, 2:19). Even that music video feels like something Brendan would direct haha. Not mad, it’s a good look on them and the song is still undeniably FYS. I remember being pretty out on this band a few years ago but they’ve really got my attention again

 

I lied, I was thinking of the band Lit, not Everclear

 

I think the switch up in sound is a positive move as well. Will definitely check the album out.

And holy shit with the artwork haha. I actually love it.

 

Chops for days (as usual) but yet again, a pure lyrical flop. I've never really been too into anything after EOTW aside from the odd couple bangers but its evident now more than ever that they're not a lyrics band.

 

It’s a little boring to my ears. The verses are pretty cool but yeah when that hook hits my ears just lose interest

 

wow, this is the one that's most immediate for me from this album, loving it

I haven't really kept up with this band in years, but I'm listening to some of the pre-Rise or Die Trying stuff and remembering how that was the most excited I've maybe ever been for an album.
