I just both love and appreciate how much hardcore is hitting the mainstream. The fact that bands like Knocked Loose and Turnstile are blowing up is great and will only expose a whole new generation to the “scene”.

    We love to see it!

it’s just aggravating when people go out of their way to shit on them like they’re literally the best case scenario of a band getting huge while sticking true to their roots and the scene at large, all the while taking their music to new extremes the bigger they get. I’m not saying everyone has to like their music or anything but people also don’t need to go out of their way to make sure everyone knows how much they dislike the most exciting young band in the scene and also shitting on people using them as a gateway into more extreme stuff. It’s all insanely positive and it’s a bummer to see the usual hardcore scene backlash anytime a band has any degree of success outside of underground circles

    Agreed. Self defeating gatekeepers.

They were insane tonight. Perfect 10/10 band. I look like I jumped into a pool. Completely wrecked but very much worth it. Excited to see them again Tuesday! I will not be raging that night.

I see more complaining about gatekeeping/hating than actually seeing it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Meh I’ve mostly seen praise and everyone I know in person is at best “it’s not for me” about it.

Not really a big metalcore person these days but damn has this record got its claws stuck into me. Filthily heavy.

  15. It's the most I've seen the word "poser" thrown at a band in a long time in many places too. Hardcore gatekeepers are weirdos

I've never been a metalcore/hardcore person at this level (I always enjoyed my screaming mixed in with some nasaly poppy choruses), but this thing is really something. Surprisingly very catchy. Very cool to be enjoying this with everyone.

  17. The gatekeeping of this band is extra funny because in 2016 they felt like the de facto "cool" band for hardcore/metalcore kids. Guess they're not cool anymore now that more people actually like them?

I got in an argument with someone who said they sound exactly the same on this album as they did on their first two albums and at that point I realized those people are just lying to themselves because even if you don’t like the album I don’t see how you can argue it sounds the same at all. Also saw someone claim they’re boring and sleep inducing. I’d respect contrarian opinions more if they weren’t so blatantly fishing for reactions by saying outlandish shit like that

Yeah, that’s utterly absurd. It doesn’t even sound like the EP (some moments aside) on this.

Piece by piece sounds like it could’ve been on the EP but yeah generally it’s clearly it’s own sound

I may, however, be slightly biased when it comes to critically analyzing this band

Yeah it was rough. My son was born two weeks prior so it's been an emotional time to say the least. I'm very sorry for your loss.

They killed it in Pittsburgh last night. Couldn’t rage due to my messed up finger from the Cleveland show but it was nice to sit back and watch everything. Crowd was a little weird but overall they crushed.
