the follow up was pretty solid too but yeah I spent a lot of time in early 2014’s cold months listening to that album. brings me a lot of comfort still.

Playing Hellblade 2. Visually incredible, but not a good video game. Super dull minute to minute “gameplay.”

pros: it looks so good it’s like you’re playing a cutscene

cons: it feels like you’re playing a cutscene

 

That was the first game as well. I’m not sure what people were expecting.

 

The letterboxes are often distracting imo

always looked at Hellblade 2 as a visual experience and not much of a game. almost like a tech demo in a sense.

I did play the first one but decided to just kinda watch a video on the sequels story.

I’d much rather wait to play a game that reaches like 80% of Hellblades graphic fidelity but with more meat. And chainsaws. And lancers. And boomshots.

Yeah, post acquisition with a bigger budget, bigger team, and like 6 years of dev time or something, I expected more meat on the bones. I don’t need a game to look near this good if it isn’t any fun to play

It's about as good as the first one, but the first one was just okay. So the sequel is just okay. But I'm not surprised people expected more considering the development team went from 20 people to 80 people. I personally didn't expect much from the gameplay because I never do when it comes to Ninja Theory. At most, they can make an accessible hack n slash game, but nothing to write home about.

Other than DmC of course. But everyone except me hates that game because of everything other than the gameplay. But gameplay is king, right guys? lol

Played Lorelei for about 2 hours last night and made ZERO progress. I love this game and would be surprised if it isn't my goty.
