What does this mean for the fest?

its just a super popular local place.

they might have been a riot sponsor at one point but im not 100% sure on that

 

Nothing for the fest but was a couple blocks east of the park.

 

Yeah it was just a spot a lot of fest goers went to for drinks and to hang out during the fest.

 

Damn that sucks. I went once before riot and it was awesome

 

i never been there or heard of it but it's just a bar, rather that close than a venue!

i still miss double door :(

I feel like they were out anyway but… Mad Caddies are out, as well as Ballyhoo! and Hey Smith. Dates all Riot weekend.

 

Someone on the subreddit asked one of the members Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies if they were playing on Instagram and the member (not sure which one) said they did not think so, so they are probably out.

 

I don’t put much stock in that. The band could easily be lying since I’m sure the RF contracts prohibit bands from confirming their appearance before RF officially announces the lineup.

 

It was Jake (from Strung Out). Somebody also talked with Spike at a show and he said probably so…

No clue. But they were just in Chicago. So probably not?

True, that’s probably the better option, but it strikes me as very in-character for an aging punk to choose the more chaotic option of spreading benign, false rumors.

 

I don’t remember the gimmes ever playing but they definitely should be a frequent playing band

 

I think the last time they played was in 2014. I'm kinda surprised it's been that long especially given how "easy" it would be to book them given that they've resigned to being a rotating cast of musicians at this point.

 

They played in 2016 too. But after that, I’m kind of surprised they didn’t become one of the bands that play every couple of years.

 

Alkaline Trio have a new album and they’ve played Chicago back in March. Anyone else think they will be back at the fest this year?

 

Certainly nothing ruling them out at this point, unless any of the members’ other bands have stuff going on.
