not directed at anyone here but this is kind of a good point lol. I’m sure if the rest of the game was better the length wouldn’t be a sticking point but I also never bought stray because it looks like a 4 hour completely on rails walking simulator to me. maybe one day when it’s dirt cheap.

 

Counterpoint: in Stray you are a cat

 

(It's a fair point though but I will give anything where I am a cat awards)

 

I love cats as much as anyone but still

 

I spent 20 dollars on Bright Memory Infinite which I beat in 2 hours. It's hard for me to complain about any game's length at this point.

 

Yeah I don’t mind a games length as much as the quality of it. Warioware on the gba was great and took me like an hour to beat lol. Obviously there are bonus stuff and high scores to beat and multiplayer things to do in that game but still I beat the solo mode in literally an hour

 

This. Stray was fun but very forgettable.

 

I didn’t play Stray either but Hellblade just seems like it doesn’t even want to be a video game so why keep up the farce.

 

That’s the vibe I got from the first game. I saw a YouTuber bashing his head against the final fight and restarting it just as he was dying over and over and over again never realizing you’re supposed to die.

 

Some of the most gorgeous and amazing games I’ve played are walking sims.

 

There is a point to that

 

A Plague Tale exists

 

I know but it was really funny to watch especially in the context of the video which was about clearing out your backlog and watching him waste so much time on it took me out

 

I still need to play that

I probably won't though, it seems like the kind of game that I'll think about and say "I should play that" for decades

 

I’ve heard really great things about the plague tale games

 

Dear, Esther is gorgeous and you are literally walking around the entire game.

 

The Plague games are fantastic and also very short

 

As someone who can't devote hundreds of hours of his life to games all the time, I appreciate a quality short game.

 

What Remains Of Edith Finch was an amazing ride and it's 90% walking and interacting.

 

Speaking of which I finished A Little To The Left recently

I've been asking Naughty Dog about that same thing for the past 15 years. Still waiting for an answer from them tbh.

 

Time to play some Tomb Raider while you wait for a reply.
