Went to Antelope Island in Utah on my trip last week and saw hundreds of Bison come down the hills and cross the road. Just one big group after another for like 15 minutes. Probably the coolest wildlife thing I’ve experienced. We got as close as we thought was safe but I did notice one stop and look over at us at one point so we slowly backed further away. Definitely not taking any chances with those things.

 

I really don't get people like that. Your camera has a zoom function! use it! I asked for a big 600mm zoom lens for christmas that year from my wife/mom (combo gift because they're expensive as hell lol) because I knew we were going on the road trip and I wanted to get good pictures iwhout pissing off the animals.

 

I grew up in Grafton, MA and my dad always said our neighborhood was built smack in the middle of what was a deer trail, and the deer would always cut right thru our yard and looked to be following the same path every time and ignoring the fact that a bunch of inconsiderate humans plopped a neighborhood down

I live one town away now, and geographically it looks exactly the same, and our area really looks like you'd see a lot of deer, but we hardly ever do. there is a ridge that runs along the back of my property though, and one morning we had what looked like a full sized buck with the antlers and everything walk right along the ridge in perfect profile. it was really cool to see, and he was taking his sweet time, and I just remember thinking that I hope he gets far away before any of my neighbors who hunt see him

 

Wow that's super cool

 

It's weird how I've never seen a bear outside of the zoo. I've been in northern NH many times over my life where there are black bear warning signs everywhere and you have to chain dumpsters shut so they don't break into them.

 

That's awesome. I saw some individuals up close but not a full heard like that. So cool.
