All the .hack games are like 80% off on Switch. Four games that were $49.99 are now $9.99. I've never played them but that's an insane deal

 

Yeah it's the type of mindless, turn your brain off type of fun where you can play and waste HOURS grinding away. I remember at launch I'd have alarms set up for World Bosses and Helltides so every time they were up, I'd go do them.

Edit - actually, maybe not so bad having seen a few more. Mixed it seems, but always going to be the case with a game like that.

Hades 2: more of a complaint about rng than the game design itself, I only need one boon left to complete a fated list for Zeus (as is the case with most of the gods at this point), did two three runs where I got the requirements for the legendary and was never offered the legendary

Just think how smart you have to be to come up with puzzles for games for a living. It's a team effort, sure, but for something as big as Fenyx Rising where the puzzles are such an integral part of the map design, it's truly fascinating that every problem you have to solve was likely crafted by hand

 

gonna skip Hellblade. Mostly because I don’t want to play a cinematic game with very few hours of gameplay. I know it looks great



I’ll wait for something that looks absurd with more meat on it. Like Gears

 

It is kinda hard to feel bad for Ninja Theory here. Like no, they shouldn’t be closed down potentially but at the same time, they took like 5-6 years to put out a five or six hour game, that’s not a good look.

 

I mean the sequel was announced late 2019 and then we had the pandemic. So I’d say the actual dev time was shorter.

that said my guess is this is what they wanted to do all along regardless of outside factors and it’s not something I wanted. I liked the first game a lot despite hating the puzzles and feeling the combat was empty. The story was just that good. Didn’t come away wanting another tale in her life tho.

 

That’s the vibe I got from the first game too, like cool game but it wasn’t something that I’d want a sequel for.

 

The PC Gamer review is pretty damn good writing if I say so myself.
