As someone who’s dealt with heart troubles and also had an ablation, wishing you well. Get well soon

 

All the tests came back normal and I had already kicked the afib by the time I got to the hospital, so I’m already getting sent home. Basically said if your heart is going back into normal rhythm like that and you’re not constantly in AFib for extended periods, thent they really don’t do anything for it. I was supposed to get a chest xray and the er doc even nixed that. Apparently the paramedics thought I went into v-tach for a little bit (that’s the killer), but he said it was not vtach rather just some couplet and triplet instances where my atrium was beating twice then my ventricles were beating twice and back and forth and etc.

So yeah, this fucking sucked! Both relieved that it sounds like a normal thing that happens but also terrified of ever feeling like that again. They said no rhyme or reason to it often times and that it may never happen again, there’s no way of knowing. Sigh.

 

Heart stuff is so scary. I was in the hospital for what they thought was endocarditis a couple years ago but thank god that wasn’t it. It’s a miracle my heart is fine from what I’ve been told because I definitely felt like I was having a heart attack or stroke or something multiples times when I was abusing drugs.

I got admitted for a weekend in November due to high BP and HR, and because they didn't end up finding anything after a million tests, UnitedHealthcare deemed it medically unnecessary for me to be admitted and stuck me with the $24k bill.

Hospital still hasn't sent me a bill though, it's been 6 months...

I can't afford it. Im able to save maybe $100 every 2 week pay period after all my bills, rent, student loans, etc. Sucks to be an engineer making 6 figures and barely scraping by!

Also, fuck United Healthcare. Worst insurance I've ever had. Absolute scum. I miss having my dad's blue cross blue shield PPO back in the day. Free doctors visits and just a $100 fee for hospital visits.

 

I just got a 3k hospital bill from a 3-4 day stay back in February. They were trying to keep me for another day even I was like no I’m going to rehab this is dumb I’m not waiting for more tests give me antibiotics

I went to the hospital like 2 months ago and insurance covered everything except for the nearly $200 covid test I was forced to take lol

 

Defitinely the weirdest hospital experience I’ve ever had in that I definitely was terrified it was super serious and it was my heart, and something actually was happening with my heart, and yet it was a shorter hospital experience than I’ve probably ever had. In and out in like 2 and a half hours. Figured since it was my heart they woulda at least kept me a night

 

I’ve had a couple quick oh here’s some antibiotics in and out trips but for the most part I tend to have to stay 2-5 days anytime I go to the hospital lol
