Sarah Michelle Geller makes the first one for me. Second one is fun enough I guess lol

It was written by the same guy to be fair though.

But yeah idk how that movie would hold up if you watch it for the first time today. It’s not that great even with nostalgia glasses on if I’m being honest, but I still throw it on from time to time

Yeah they’re not good but I def have a nostalgia soft spot for the first 2. Jennifer Love Hewitt screaming to the sky while spinning in circles in the street is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

I'm stoked for a new I Know... tbh.

Not great by any stretch but we watch that every summer around the fourth of July. Nostalgia factor is very high for me and I love the setting.

I agree w/them 100%. Half way through I turned to my wife and said “I think I hate this movie”

I Saw The TV Glow was great. Like a few have said, there’s definitely not much horror in it, but the The Pink Opaque in general gave me the same spooky-lite feeling I used to get from stuff like So Weird and Are You Afraid Of The Dark as a kid. In a sense it kinda taps that childhood vein like Skinamarink, but instead of abject terror it just felt kinda cozy. Save for the Mr. Melancholy scene, which I did find incredibly hair raising

  14. Wasn't the last Insidious movie meant to close out the franchise? (I know that doesn't actually mean anything, I was just under the impression it was the last in the series)

Also I wonder if I will like The Strangers movie if I don't really care about the original lol. I'm a Prey at Night fan all the way

I love both the Strangers movies so I’m kind of bummed that this is getting bad reviews.

I believe their distinction is that it was the last movie with the main family. But yeah I thought so too lol

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I'll always watch a new Insidious personally

y'all dug up a core memory with that Last Summer talk lol, I haven't seen that movie since I was 12 but I instantly remembered *that* death scene as soon as I saw it mentioned

I never saw the strangers but is it just a rip off or extension of Funny Games?

if you don’t care for the first, I can’t imagine you’ll like the new one. Very similar movie but worse.

for the record I didn’t like the original either, but there’s a clear gap in quality

Strangers definitely isn’t Madame Web bad, it’s just bland and boring; some really goofy shit at times too - that beginning was rough and I laughed at the post credits scene.

They've been compared over the years. The two have similarities, but don't consider it a rip Off. It's one of my favorite movies of the last 20 years.

I haven't seen The Strangers in years, but Funny Games is so complex and has a lot more going on. If The Strangers borrowed anything from it, it's probably only found in the fact that the premise is also home invasion.

Edit: well I guess the whole "because we can/because you were here" thing also
