I don't know if you win that many DPOY awards by being overrated. It's possible that Jokic is the best player on the planet by a wide margin.

it's just incredible to me that a dude as good as Jokic actually doesn't appear to like basketball all that much. maybe that's the key, not giving a shit. But even Luka has some thoughts similar to Jokic

 

i dont think it's that jokic doesn't like basketball. i think he just doesn't like all the shit he has to deal along with being a professional basketball player.

He likes basketball but to him it’s a job like any other and the nba doesn’t like it when their superstars treat it like a normal job they want media sensations that eat drink and breathe ball 24/7 despite how unhealthy that is

 

this is why I said "appears." I don't actually think he dislikes basketball.

I could've worded what I said better, my point was that this is just a means to an end for him (not living/breathing basketball), and he's killing dudes on the court and has won 3 MVPs. He just wants to fulfill the mission then tend to his horses. It's great.
