A group of toxic gamers discovered many recent popular games (God of War Ragnarok, AW2, Spider-Man 2, etc.) used this consulting agency to clean up story stuff and now they are blaming Sweet Baby Inc for these game including more diversity in characters in their games. The studios had already decided for those characters to be queer and/or POC when they were brought in.

Alyssa Mercante wrote an article about it and got access to a discord where these people were talking about this stuff in order to try to get quotes for the article, obviously they found out and weren’t happy. One of the people involved in this is Mark Kern, a former blizzard employee that was a supporter of the gamergate stuff, and he’s been leading this movement of people to harass her ever since.

I should add that the escalation to her being doxxed happened after some guy who is some what prominent in that realm, he’s a form we don’t employee or something, was saying some pretty heinous shit to her. So she found the guy’s wife public Facebook profile and she sent her stuff about what he’s been doing, without sharing any of his wife’s actual information.

The craziest thing is how under the radar this has been, like these people are literally making YouTube videos about wanting to kill her. And I only found out about it because I follow her on Twitter.

okay, I made it to the surface, short-lived as it was but I really do wanna jump back in to HFW and complete the dlc so...

 

Oh man, I hate saying this but I'm just gonna point out that no matter what that dude said to her, contacting his wife was way out of line. But it's also just a terrible mistake optically. It sets a bad precedent and it gives utter morons the idea that bringing her family into this is fair. The internet is already prone to escalating things beyond what's necessary. Don't help them do it.

 

The dude was literally cheering on posters that were making death threats to her. Please don't do this. He is a public figure in some regard, he has a "verified" account and his bio lists all his past work. People need to be held accountable, especially when the platforms they are using don't actually do that.

His professional life is public. His personal life is not. She didn't just contact his wife, she bragged about it on twitter for everyone to see. This clearly says, at least to me, that she didn't take those death threats seriously. Because no one who would take them seriously would do something like that. You're correct that people need to be held accountable, but ultimately it's twitter who needs to be held accountable for allowing people to make death threats on their platform.

She tried taking it into her own hands without thinking it through. This may sound harsh but she played a stupid game so she won a stupid prize. And it ultimately didn't even work. His wife apparently thinks she's crazy. So all she accomplished is giving herself bad optics. She brought herself down to their level and the internet responded with what they deemed as fair, but we all know what the internet deems as fair isn't so. Don't be the person that convinces others what she did wasn't a mistake. It'll just lead to similar actions with similar results down the road. Encourage self preservation instead.

Anyway, that's the last I'll speak on the matter.

Hades 2 is as good as Returnal

 

Yeah looks like Bloodstained gets its last big update. I'm not really interested in either of the new game modes but I'm glad it's gotten so much additional content since its release

Gotten the furthest using the axe and the twin flames I think, surprisingly. Staff feels most intuitive tho
