Highway to Hell is a wild movie. Imagine dropping this and Drop Dead Fred in the same year.

Same for me! I saw it for the first time when I was a senior in high school. I was at a friend’s house and he was asking which movie we should watch. From Dusk Till Dawn was one of the options and I said I’d never seen it. He put his hands up and said “okay, wait, what do you know about the movie?” I told him I knew very little and I’ll never forget the look on his face when he said “I’m going to put this on and I’m not going to tell you ANYTHING.” I was just staring at him like “okaaaaay.”

Ended up being one of my favorite viewing experiences ever. I was so shocked at that first turn.

Okay so The Toxic Avenger 2 is fun but it's a bit bloated and they really try to do so much (way too much) with it compared to the story in the first movie. However, they spend a lot of time in Tokyo shooting on location and there's some hilarious and fun stuff there. There's also some insanely graphic stuff - the sushi chef hacking kill on Melvin's fake dad had me a bit floored ngl haha. 3 has some memorable moments but is a complete retread of 2 with a different perspective. Apparently Lloyd Kaufman shot like 4 hours of footage for the second movie?? So they broke it up into 2 sequels. Absolutely should've trimmed it down to one sequel and cut a tonnnn but that probably doesn't jive with the Troma work ethic. There are also so many continuity issues between the first movie and then 2 and 3 haha. Not that you come to these movies for absolutely dedicated precision and accuracy when it comes to plot, but they straight up change whatever they want to fit the framework for the direction the sequel takes (they change Melvin's last name, change his girlfriend's first name, multiple recasts, etc.).

All in all, I still recommend both sequels cause they are a blast to have some drinks with like-minded buddies while watching. Very much looking forward to 4 though cause I've heard it's the best sequel.

Any thoughts for Joe Bob tonight? My first thought (but it seems too obvious) is Linnea Quigley’s Horror Workout

Sounds promising. Cast is great and Ralph is huge. If Cillian commits to acting in it as well, I’ll be thrilled!

Cillian has been talking about wanting to get this movie made for years, so I can’t imagine he won’t be in it. I bet it’s like a last 30 minutes of the movie type of thing

Honestly, even if it’s some form of narration, I’d be happy

  17. Time to rewatch that one, gives Dawn of the Dead a run for its money as my favorite zombie film of all time. I remember nothing about the sequel except for the helicopter scene
