I actually think my games beaten ratio is close to 50% when it comes to switch games. Definitely above 30%. Steam is another story because I’m routinely getting games for 5-15 bucks when they’re on sale with no intention of playing them anytime soon. I only buy physical switch games and those prices never drop especially first party nintendo titles so I have to be much more selective of what I buy. Same with ps5 for the most part which again is where the subscription comes in handy because I don’t have to buy games I want to play someday that are on the service

 

also beaten isn’t a fair metric considering I beat Mario wonder in 8 hours and have literally played tears of the kings for ten times as long and have not beaten it

 

I pretty much beat every game I play but I play slow as hell and I never 100%, very fake gamer

 

I've only ever beaten Pokemon, some Mario games, and BOTW. My ADHD doesn't allow it, but man, botw really sucked me in somehow

 

Once I’m playing more than one game, it’s over for me finishing games. I will say since getting a Steam Deck that seems to be changing.

Yep I’ve said it before but I want my home to be like a library of games where I can reach for something on a whim if I feel like it. Wanna play a platformer? Got plenty. Racer? Got a few. RPG? That’s half my games. Fantasy, post apocalyptic, surrealist, historical fiction, sci fi, modern day, military, spy, horror, relaxing, challenging, pick up and play, puzzles, rogues, etc etc. literally whatever kind of mood hits I wanna have an option for it lol

 

I am always seeking out interesting well reviewed games that strike my interest regardless if I ever play it or not especially when it comes to indies and smaller studios because I know how much it helps so if I can a good indie on a discount I will even if I never get around to it

 

For anyone else in here who is into games with esoteric puzzles (Fez, Tunic, La Mulana, etc), Animal Well came out today and currently has a 91 on Metacritic. Very excited to dive in later today.

It’s also free on PS Plus and hovers around 33MB-150MB depending on the platform you play it on, which is a marvel is today’s landscape lol.

I have still primarily been jumping between Dorfromantik, Against the Storm (absolutely wonderful game but fuck anyone that says it's relaxing, literally the most confusing adjective I've seen used to describe it), and Skyrim. Skyrim blows me away every time I turn it on, and I love thinking that I'll head out on a specific mission only to get completely sidetracked in the best imaginable ways.

 

Animal Well looks incredible, didn't realize this was Dunkeys game
