iPadOS 18 is going to need to be a monumental leap forward to warrant an upgrade for most anyone who has purchased an iPad in the last 3-4 years. The specs on these things are gnarly but completely hamstrung by what it can (can't) do. The Stage Manager re-design was a polished turd that I spent about a week trying to adapt to before abandoning completely again.

 

my 12.9" pro that i got in january of 2019 is still running like its day 1. no issues what so ever with what i use it for.

I can't find it but there was that person on tiktok a few weeks/months ago that was like "I've been paying $1400 a month for 3 years how do I still owe $70,000 on my car"

 

with car payment and monthly insurance i am under $600 but not by a whole lot.

99% of people who need/want an iPad really just needs the 10th gen or air

 

I absolutely hate what people tried to make the iPad do. I feel like this and the attention it go took away a desire to actually make it a touch-forward OS and device rather than the frankenstein that we have..

I'm thinking I'll be handing off my M1 Pro if there's nothing worthwhile in iOS 18. My MBA can do enough.

More people than you think. With the inflation in car prices, interest rates, and a total lack of financial education there are many people paying close to 1k before insurance because they bought a car they didn't need.

 

yeah I pay 800 euros a month for my car in total. (though that used to be pre-tax when I had my own company.)

I have the 12.9 pro A12X and there's no reason for me to upgrade other than I want to downsize to an 11" pro at some point.

i'm now uncertain if it's actually famous or my wife and i just quoted it a lot when we first started dating

 

I regret getting the 11-inch. Only reason why I'd upgrade and not worth it.

 

how come? The 12.9 is nice, but also doesn't fit nice in my sling that I carry when I'm out whereas the 11" would.

 

Screen is a bit small for what I do on it, only way to make it usable for my purposes is with Display Zoom set to "More Space" and that makes some elements very small.
