We couldnt get more than 10 minutes into the first episode before we shut it off. Both of us were like 'awful' - does it get better ??

 

I thought his interview with Ray J showed a lot of promise for Mulaney as a talk show host.

 

So if you have Hulu with ads and Disney+ without ads, and you got your accounts bundled you still get ads if you watch Hulu stuff on your Disney+ app.

The thing is not everything is labeled as being Hulu content so you really can't tell. I was just watching one of the Apes movies and I had no idea it was a technically a Hulu movie and I got an ad and was surprised.

 

on the description page for the content you're watching it'll say "available with your Hulu subscription". they should come up with a better way to indicate which content has ads for those with an ad-supported plan, but for now, that text might be a good way remember what does and doesn't have ads.

i should've been more specific. it's separate from the actual description, it's just on the content page. this is what it looks like on my phone.

It has its moments and I do appreciate just how weird and un organized it feels. But I’d say the first ten minutes of the first episode were my favorite part, so if you didn’t even like that part, probably skip it.

 

If you like John Mulaney and talk shows then watch it.

 

Its unfortunate. I was looking forward to it. Perhaps Ill give it a second chance at some point - the guests looked good.

I enjoyed the jon Stewart episode of John mulaney's show if only because jon seemed genuinely confused and delighted at everything that was happening.

 

MUBI is on another level right now. In the last month they have added Burning, House of Tolerance, Secret Sunshine, Flight of the Red Balloon, and several others. Avoid Only God Forgives and the Beaver, though.

Mubi is the best cinematic streaming service for just about anything that isn’t mainstream/American and more people should sign up for it

 

Had never heard of it. Looks interesting though.

 

I flip flop between Mubi and Criterion (I’m not rich enough for both at once) and I do think I prefer Mubi these days

 

I also hear that library card streamer Kanopy is really good for foreign/arthouse stuff. Plus it's free.

 

yeah kanopy and hoopla are the ones you can get with most library cards

I think kanopy has a limit of movies you can ~check in and out~

 

Libby is great too

Was very surprised when I just saw a notification from serializd that a new season of Outer Range is starting on the 16th. Turns out the trailer dropped like 3 weeks ago and I totally missed it. Had absolutely no clue (or totally forgot) they had even been working on season 2 tbh.
