this man just made an instrumental beat diss lmfao. historic levels of hate getting directed at this dude right now, no-one deserves it more than Drake

 

It's still absolutely wild to think that all of this started with Like That, a track that Kendrick really didn't say anything that bad in??? The way Drake played himself from the very beginning by taking SUCH offense to that track is incredible.

OK yes technically First Person Shooter started it but it doesn't even really feel like it because Kendrick's "reaction" to it was to just generally boast, which is a normal thing rappers do!

 

Was saying to my mate about a month ago that modern diss tracks felt super weak, and that Hit Em Up was still the best imo.

MTG and NLU doing everything to prove me wrong. Jeeeeeeesus.

There’s like a school of thought that say that Hit Em Up was a disgrace, the opposite of what a rap battle should be, and that poisoned people with regards to what they want from rap beef

 

there are plenty of valid lines of attack on kendrick, drake is just too compromised and/or dumb to exploit them

 

The brilliant thing about the Metro beat is that now the flood gates are open for the whole world to hop on and hate on Drake too

 

The metro beat samples an AI track which is a bummer but I can’t deny it’s also perfect

It’s so funny that this all could have been avoided if Drake would have just swallowed his ego. Truly, a living “Breaking Bad” meme of “We had a good thing. But you just had to blow it up with your pride and ego.”
