Somehow still a cold, rainy and gloomy day in early May so the perfect backdrop to listen to some Deftones.

I saw people reposting this on Tiktok, so basically it's gone viral on multiple platforms and, as you can imagine, the comments aren't very kind. I think it's kinda gross when people post stuff of their children online for clout and keep it up for views even when the comments are mostly negative, but putting that aside, I hope situations like these (assuming the parent uses it as a teachable moment and actually explains it to them after recording) lead to younger generations continuing to invest in physical media

 

Super underrated album. Hearts / Wires and the run from Gore - Phantom Bride - Rubicon is great.

 

I had ALMOST given up on owning this record at a reasonable price until I saw a record store on Discogs selling it at sticker price. Taproot is on the turntable!

 

I went to CDTrader last week! got both Laufey albums on CD, but I plan to return for more. Almost wanted to get these all at once: Kacey Musgraves, Girl in Red, St. Vincent, Dua Lipa, Willow... Gotta practice some self restraint and spread out my purchases, I've already been spending too much these past few months

also I notice I decide whether to get CD or vinyl for an artist based on what I already have of theirs. I have two Kacey Musgraves and two Girl in Red on vinyl so I should get their new ones on vinyl, but I have a Dua Lipa and like five or six St. Vincent on CD so I should get theirs on CD. weird, right?

 

Sometimes I flip flop. Like for The Menzingers, I have OTIP on vinyl, but Rented World on CD. ATP on vinyl, but Hello Exile on CD. And vice versa.

Big ups to Closed Casket for making the switch to their preorders from now on. That was one of my 2023 purchases that has been m.i.a.

 

The Fleshwater remix album I ordered around Xmas just arrived at my PO box. Longer than usual wait for a CCA pre order. They're pretty good with their timelines. I got the new Full of Hell in no time!

 

Just some PS5 and TEN this evening.

Also just hung up my new Death Cab poster I got this weekend at their Toronto show. It's an absolute beauty and goes well with my Transatlanticism and Plans posters!

I wonder if we'll just get refunds on the preorders that never actually got done. I had one for Alvvays "Antisocialites".

 

Possibly but not entirely sure what outstanding records will go out and what was part of a preorder but was never actually pressed, due to past lack of payments. I have 2 POs that were ordered in Oct. 2023 but I don't know how far back Bandbox's issues went, so I might be S.O.L. Hopefully, we all come out on top and get either our records or refunds.

 

As long as I don't need to beg for my vinyl or a refund, cool. If nothing comes of this, I've already erased that fiasco and waste of $$ from my mind so whatever.

 

i'm still waiting for a resolution to the NFG FTSTYS pressing.
i haven't bothered to open my copy yet. i don't really want it now.

 

I kept it. They pressed 2,000(?) copies of that, so not sure we’ll see any resolution. You could argue we got a replacement track in Hungry Eyes? At least that’s what I told myself in order to keep it.
