I can see both sides to this. I typically pre-order from my local shop because I got tired of paying shipping costs, it's a local business, and I enjoy the guarantee of having albums on release day. Obviously the artists themselves need all the help they can get today, especially with Spotify being the way most people consume music. But, they can offer exclusive variants and test presses which will sell regardless of an exclusivity window.

Lots of cool splatter variants coming out, this one is no exception!

It’s in a little paper sleeve inside the jacket, but I pulled out and put it in that one until I order 7” sleeves (it’s actually the sleeve for the die cut Format “Swans” record).

  6. Do you guys replace all your sleeves or just the standard ones that are blank paper with plastic in the middle?

let's just hope it's not $75 this time. wish Warner would coordinate with him to put the new vinyl master on streaming, and bring Reset to the US. i already have both in my Apple Music library, but it'd be great if others had access to that master.

started with outer sleeves, but eventually picked up a 500 pack of inner sleeves from Hudson Hi-Fi.

I was lucky to snag one during that last drop. I’d love to see their other albums get a repress, as they’re equally if not more difficult to find for a decent price.

I use these too. Replacing them as I listen to my albums.

  11. So you replace all the inner sleeves but hold onto the pretty ones?

and also what brush do you use?

right. if there are printed inner sleeves, i usually hang onto them and keep them in the jacket with the reserved disc. the brush you posted will work great. i'd also suggest a wet cleaning kit for dirty discs, such as a Discwasher brush & fluid.

Went to nyc this weekend and was hunting for that RSD At the drive in, I walked in to limited to one and the dude was playing it! Asked if he had another copy to sell (he did not) but after singing along with it in the store while I perused for like 10 min he offered to sell it me! Fucking stoked to have gotten it after striking out so many times.

I pull all the records from the sleeve, printed or otherwise. They go into round bottom sleeves and get stored outside the jacket, everything goes into a plastic sleeve. I toss the white paper sleeves and tuck any printed ones back into the jacket for safekeeping.

The only outstanding preorder I have is TEN - TMTMTP.

I'm also subscribed to the IVC Vinyl Collective, but other than those, I haven't preordered vinyl in close to 6 months and it feels good.

I’m down to 5 and trying to be good… not sure how long it will last. Lowest it’s been for a while plus I’m moving house so may have to change any pre-orders! It’s a good incentive to hold off on buying stuff though!

RX Bandits - Resignation (Banquet) ??
NFG - Screen to Stereo (Banquet) ??
    Early November - The Mother (Drive-Thru) - ??
Ben Folds Five - Whatever (Amazon) - May 17
Silverstein - Shipwreck (Brooklyn Vegan) - June 28
