So the new single suffocate is just a paid promo for Poppy. What an absolutely meaningless feature. Great song though.

In an interview Bryan said she approached them to do a collab and they were alreadyfinishing up the album, so they wrote suffocate in a few days so it could be on the album

Honestly, even if it is, the song rips and I don’t care.

 

I was being serious yea, but that's because the only part I thought was her was 1:30 to 1:50. Listened to it a few times in the car and thought the female voice in that section was the only part she was featured (the talking part before the breakdown).

I guess I missed the screaming at a minute was not Brian. It's obvious now but I honestly didn't catch the vocal switch the first couple of listens and thought it was just Brian doing something a little bit new.

EDIT: This means I changed my mind since she is actually in the song for more than a 20 second spoken word section.

 

they have very similar screams throughout the song. the music video really helps haha

Yea, I don't know Poppy except for that she's starting to get featured in everything and when I mistakenly thought she was in the song for 20 seconds just speaking, my cynical side came out. I stand here corrected and a fool.

seeing them in just a few weeks I’m so pumped

 

I saw this tweet and immediately thought, "I bet Knocked Loose is on this somewhere" and sure enough, they are direct support.

 

They do, but to be honest, there are so many riffs / breakdowns that all hit similar these days that I try to just let it go as long as the song slaps and each artist is doing enough new around it, that a similar part here and there isn't too distracting.

That's probably why the comments are turned off on that video?
