im at a loss of words, im on chorus.fm which i thought was a safe space and now even here jewish people cant feel comfortable?

What's so cool about seeing antisemtisim against jewish people? You also find Hitler and Trump cool?

Straight from the creator of the festival. He never says anything bad about Palestinians but of-course you come after us jews. Disgusting. Same story per usual.

"Like many Jews and citizens of Israel, I do not support the current Israeli government, nor do I have any knowledge about Israel's settlement plans.
The pacifist optimist in me would love to see two peaceful states, Hamas incarcerated, Netanjahu out of office, and Palestinians free to travel, work, and love whomever they choose.

So, if you hold a different viewpoint on the existence of Israel, Booze Cruise might not be the festival you want to attend this summer. If you believe that shouting "from the river..." is an acceptable statement, it’s not, in fact it is a crime according to German law. If you post terms like "i$rael", "z!onist", "gen0cide", then fuck all the way off already.

If you wish to discuss this further, feel free to reach out.
It seems that open dialogue could be beneficial in these challenging times."

ALSO I am not a zionist or even that religious. Just a Jew from L.A. that wants to feel comfortable without seeing antisemitism everywhere.

  5. Please, tell me in detail what's the problem with "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" or "zionist" or "genocide." Quote me some of the antisemitism in the reddit thread too. I'm also Jewish btw

  6. hey wait a minute man. you just said zionist. I guess Booze Cruise isn't for you either, welcome

you seem like a self hating jew.. Like i said, i am not religous, i am not a zionist, i just want to be respected.

Whats wrong with "From the river to the seas, palstine will be free?" Well first its a rally cry for Hamas. I mean that should be enough right there but you seem like you may need more so in lamens terms it means Israel’s destruction through violent means. It is fundamentally a call for a Palestinian state extending from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, territory that includes the State of Israel, which would mean the dismantling of the Jewish state. It is an antisemitic charge denying the Jewish right to self-determination, including through the removal of Jews from their ancestral homeland.

    huh.

  9. You don't even understand what zionism means and you're trying to call me a self hating Jew? "Jewish self determination" in Palestine is exactly what zionism is, but you claim you're not one, then say it's antisemitic not to be one. Not even worth arguing the rest of your nonsense if you don't even know the vocabulary, please educate yourself on the subject before making baseless accusations.

The dude you're defending right here says "if you post terms like [...] z!onist [...], then fuck all the way off already."

Just to add a little bit of context, there are strict laws in germany, when it comes to antisemitism. Saying "from the river to the .." can trigger an investigation and can lead to consequences. Using a dollar sign when writing "jew$" is received as blatant antisemitism and is not acceptable at all and the german left for the most part would co sign the statement in a heartbeat. Hamas is totally banned as a terror organization and anything promoting it is highly illegal. The witchhunt against the organizer startet by a small group of folks really got out of hand and I really think we don't need this in our scene and people starting shit like that over that statement should be the once that should be ashamed and should question their behaviour. We all might disagree about certain topics, but basically ruining a guys life for the foreseeable future about this, wow ... it's just slander at this point.

  13. ruining a guys life because he supports genocide is good

In no way, shape or form does he somehow support genocide. Please tell me what part of his statement is supporting genocide.

  15. He believes in, supports and spreads the unfounded Israeli-propagated conspiracy theory that the UNWRA is a Hamas front. This lie led to a huge draw down in UNWRA operations in Gaza, depriving people living in the worst situation on Earth at the moment from desperately needed basic relief efforts. Here’s NYT admitting there’s no evidence of this yesterday:

Where does he say that he believes in it, spread it or support it. I can't find it in the statement. Maybe you have other sources than I do, but it's not there. He follows UNRWA Monitor on Instagram, but that doesn't imply any of the things you suggest about him, his actions or his character.

  17. Right, he follows and likes posts by the UNWRA monitor account and gets extremely defensive when that’s pointed out but he probably doesn’t actually agree with the propaganda it spreads. For sure. That is even less plausible than the propaganda in question

The newest posts from that account are from 2021, I have no idea what posts on there he might have liked, but that makes him a genocide supporter in your mind and that makes it fine in your mind to ruin his life ... sorry, that's just wrong on so many levels and let's not forget how everyone seems to leave out this part of his statement:
"The pacifist optimist in me would love to see two peaceful states, Hamas incarcerated, Netanjahu out of office, and Palestinians free to travel, work, and love whomever they choose."
Yeah, that sure as hell implies he wants a genocide to happen ...

  19. That’s nice that he has an imagination for the future but there is a genocide going on right now and his statement says that anyone who uses that word should not participate in the fest. His description of the UNWRA monitor account alone accepts its false premise and reveals his, at best, indifference to the ongoing genocide.

Not to mention as a Jew I find it wildly offensive that he would use the fact that his grandparents were literal nazis as a rhetorical weapon to legitimize a genocide. Never again for anyone was the lesson I was taught to take from the holocaust. But I suppose the Nazi descendant would know better.

Once again, where does he legitimize a genocide? He doesn't do that and I didn't perceive giving background about his upbringing as weaponizing (like I don't think you're weaponizing you being a jew, context matters), but that's up to everyones own perception. All in all, I really think this is so far blown out of proportion, it's not even funny and things assumed about him as a person are so far from the truth by now, it doesn't even matter, because a bunch of people just wanna see him go down in flames. It's just malicious at a certain point and I really think people need to back down and get on with their lives.

  21. The UNWRA-Hamas link is a vile racist lie used directly as an excuse to deprive the most needful population on the planet of necessary aid. It is an excuse for the ongoing genocide. So yes he is contributing to the legitimation of genocide. I think encouraging bands to drop off his fest is perfectly proportional.

  22. Also - it’s not ruining his life he just might not get to put on his fest. He can get a job at Aldi like the rest of Germany

How does he, by just following that site, that hasn't posted in over 2 years and not even mentioning or promoting anything about that contribute to genocide? You just wanna see him suffer and that's just malicious and he gets called a Nazi and most folks won't even take the time to find out why but just remember it like that. He doesn't promote genocide and this edition of the Fest would have been the last anyway and after years and years of him doing this for the bands and visitors, it would have been just fair to see him get the chance to enjoy what he build for our scene one last time. We won't agree on this, but how some people on the net treat and threaten him is just wrong.
If bands wanna drop over this, perfectly fine as long as they really wanna do this, but if they are pressured and threatened to do so, that's just wrong over this, too.

  24. He doesn’t just follow that account, in his insta post addressing that he follows it he repeats without qualification the lie the account was created to promote. He believes the lie, it’s clear and obvious. The purpose of the lie is to facilitate genocide. QED. We haven’t even gotten into the rest of his likes.

I’m sorry your friend who puts on a punk booze cruise(? lmfao) might not get his going away party but uh…who cares lol. People are dying Kim

I'm done arguing here with you. Your answers here are giving away more about you and your character than about him and we won't agree anytime soon. Your insinuations here are really malicious and I won't convince you otherwise and i won't respond to that whole germany / Aldi thing. Nonetheless I hope you have a good day and everyone can get on with their lifes now.
