They are alright frozen but I haven’t tried them that way since the package first introduced that method

Never had them frozen before. The best way is to toast them and then spread butter on the non frosted side.

There's no saving pop-tarts from mediocrity. TTS.

  7. Cannot imagine a buttered pop-tart, sounds way too rich. My wife's family puts a little butter on powdered mini-donuts sometimes and that freaks me out too.

Anyways, raw or frozen is the way to go.

Well yes but still they need to be recooked/reheated before eating.

  13. Incorrect, people eat them unheated all the time

I'm sure other places have this as well, but there's a place near me that had a donut sandwich that you either loved or hated. No cheese, but it was 2 griddled crispy kreme donuts, strawberry cream cheese, and a chicken sausage patty. I personally love the mcgriddle for the savory sweet combo, but did NOT like these. Way too much of the sweet and not enough other flavors to add balance.

The place overall was amazing (closed now as the lady running it retired - much deserved) - this was just a gimmick oddity sandwich that put them on the map. Tried it once, didn't enjoy it so I just stuck to the standard sandwiches. I can't remember or recall if the donut was improved by being grilled like that, the whole flavor combo was just not for me.

I do like the 'trend' of the burger buns that are turned inside out (like in that donut picture) and then cooked that way. Example below. The 'dome' of the bun goes towards the meat then it gets flattened and grilled. Like a smash burger where the whole thing is smashed.

I've had a burger with a glazed donut as the bun at the Big E a few years ago and that shit rocked

I’m not the biggest fan of mixing sweet and savory in general, but the donut for a bun thing is repulsive to me

  24. You're interested in glazed donuts with American cheese, but draw the line at eating a pop-tart out of its package?
