Oh, yeah, I’ve heard that one. It seems implied by the “full band” posts that there’s another?

That’s on me. Was day drinking yesterday and got my wires crossed when typing. I only know of the that demo as well.

The best version of Nights and Weekends is from the Geffen Demos, back when it was called “Is It True Do You Hate Me?”

  5. I've been a fan of this band since 2008 which means I've never been around for a full album release from them. God I hope the 4 is in reference to a fourth LP!

I realized this weekend that the stars are actually aligning for the potential of a TSL/Days Away/Further Seems Forever tour reunion.

That tour was my first club show and just incredible back in the day, would absolutely lose my mind if they did it again.

this is pure wishful thinking, but it really would be dope.

That club tour was one of the two times I ever saw them, and I have a distinct memory of the beginning of TSL's set.

Everyone sort of wandered away from the front of the stage before they started. So all at once, the lights went off and the "DUN DUN" of "Up and Go" started... The whole crowd rushed towards the rail and I remember being a 15-year-old, 110 lb kid getting pushed by a wave of people and my feet were literally just sliding across the floor like a cartoon lol.

After that though, the crowd/pit was pretty tame. It was a blast. I know there was also one point where it was just Kenny and Mike doing a couple of acoustic songs (I want to say "The Night Life" and "Playing Favorites") which was awesome.

Hell yeah. The main thing I remember is not being prepared for how LOUD the show was (my experience with live music before this was basically just church and outdoor event things) and my ears rang for days after this one. Totally worth it.

I'm so incredibly sick of Taylor Swift and it's getting harder to not "yuck someones yum" or whatever about her, but it would be sick if The Starting Line suddenly got huge because of a silly little reference.

It's also wild to me to think this band still has only released 3 albums

Yeah, I also think Taylor Swift is super overrated, but I too would love TSL to blow up if that forces them to be a little more active :)

That version of Bedroom Talk was floating around the internet for a while but I have no idea where it would be now. I checked YouTube and it’s not up :(

They did perform Classic Jazz during their livestream two years ago though! You can also find the demos of that song and Lasting Impressions on YT I believe.

I don't think I was ever aware that a Tim O'Heir version of "Bedroom Talk" was even floating around out there like with "The World". I've only heard the original demo version of that song, I think.

What's the best way to share music files nowadays? I have the Geffen demos in a folder labeled fairly well.

Did this band put out anything new after the Anyways EP?

This 1000%. I love that EP but compared to the full lengths - it's the hardest one to listen to so I hope the new music is mixed/mastered differently.

I swear I remember it being on a Bandcamp site along with the full band Playing Favorites. There's a few accounts on Youtube with a lot of b-sides up too.

Purevolume? I definitely remember that live version of "Playing Favorites" with the full band being up on there. I don't think I've ever seen that one around since then though lol.

With "Bedroom Talk" though, the reason I ask is because they definitely did do some version of that song with Tim O'Heir before they brought it to Howard Benson (at least that's how Kenny explained it on a recent podcast), but I never thought it saw the light of day.

I'm so happy to have the Live At Studio 4 versions of those EP songs. Cast them in a totally different light and let me actually enjoy them!

I might have the full band "Playing Favorites" confused with the "Lasting Impressions" one that's out there. It's been a looooooong time; I remember downloading a bunch of bsides from some website that archived stuff like that and I swear I distinctly remember a Tim O'Heir version of a TSL song getting posted somewhere in the last few years. I remember that story being similar to what you mentioned, the label sent them back to re-record a few songs which is how the non-Tim songs wound up on BOATS. Benson did "The World" and "Bedroom Talk" and Eric Rachel is credited for "Making Love To The Camera" (which is weird because his whole resume is metalcore and hardcore outside of that song).

IIRC the label wanted BOATS to sound like Catalyst. That's why they had to go back to the drawing board.
