I guess it's a hot take, but I'm just grateful both HH & Thursday are able to pay their bills playing music, they probably talk a lot because they're happy to still be doing it as they get closer to 50

 

Do I think Shakira could sell out an arena in la and nyc? Yes. Do I think she will in charlotte? No

 

They’re only chasing safety in full every night plus a fan voted 2nd set where every single song from every album is available to vote on to be played

 

I don't really think should could either, but then again I don't really know what her draw is with the Spanish speaking community. There are quite a lot of those folks in Charlotte that have made the new MLS team successful, but I don't know if they overlap

 

I guess that Pixies rumor ended up being bunk

That's my fault. I fell for the "goal of appealing to a demographic between ages 30 and 50" from a community blog about the fest and it made sense, but this lineup skews much younger imo

 

Oh I’m not blaming you haha. Since Pixies aren’t playing the Pittsburgh date of their co-headliner with Modest Mouse, it made sense for them to be on that fest

 

Still hopeful something comes of that, unless it really is just a random day off for whatever reason lol. As for the fest lineup, I'm whelmed. It's bigger than Thrival and has some trendy names, but does it have enough draw to pull more than just the local college kids? TBD.

 

Ice Nine Kills/In This Moment/Avatar tour for later this year. I thought that was already pretty rough. Then I saw TX2 is opening for them.

 

Wish Chevelle would play NYC but I guess I'll have to consider schleppin down to gross Montclair

 

still to this day never seen Chevelle despite them being one of the first bands I remember really liking way back in high school
