we've got fans hanging in the rafters here, packed houses. AEW definitely didn't only draw like 3k people here in December

Priest/Jey is exactly why I thought it was such a poor call to put the title on Priest. That's barely a TV main event, let alone a B-level PPV program.

Not to mention, every credible babyface has already feuded with Judgment Day to death.

They don't really have to sell tickets based on anything right now because the product is so hot. Doesn't excuse bad ideas or make them good ones.

 

exactly. and just like with the first few years of the network when they weren't worried about ppv buys anymore, quality went down.

I agree that program STINKS though and why I'm not yet super optimistic about this supposed new era of WWE

 

I'm a pretty strong advocate for Levesque's booking overall and I've liked more of what he's done than disliked, so I'm continuing to give the benefit of the doubt, but yeah, this one just doesn't work for me.

You're right about the money coming in no matter what, but if they burn through the goodwill, they'll see it in fan enthusiasm/attendance eventually. That sort of thing always lags in both directions. Kind of what you're seeing with AEW now - much better product all around, still poor attendance numbers. I get the point, though, they didn't really care about that stuff when it happened last time. Ultimately, a totally different regime, though.

 

i like Priest more than most here i think, but he really needs to be allowed to be the painfully cool guy he is in real life. Judgment Day really should start turning face imo.

 

After the first hour my excitement went down last night, I know it’s hard to back up what they did over the weekend but besides Drew not a single person in that fatal four way should be anywhere near the world title lol.

 

I really have no idea what WWE could do to get me watching regularly again, which stinks. It was almost like a bad habit for so long where I was watching no matter what in 2019/early 2020 (still more WWE than AEW at that time) then the lack of crowds due to the pandemic forced me to tune out. Then AEW filled that void and I haven't yet picked WWE back up lol

 

They should have never created the rollins belt. It doesn't really accomplish what a title should accomplish. There should always be only 1 real world title... anything else is mid card fodder.

It diminishes the briefcase and the rumble too because why is anyone choosing NOT the main belt lol

Imagine if priest cashed in on Cody or Roman...now you made a mega star. Instead you're just testing the waters.

Priest is a great person to choose to elevate but the judgment day is too much comedy and too jobbery

 

Definitely not a Priest guy, but I agree. He's significantly more charismatic out of character than he is on TV. Kind of like babyface Roman.

 

I liked Priest in NXT, never got into the Judgment Day stuff at all even when Edge started it

 

my least favorite thing about Priest is that he used to be called Punishment Martinez and yes that name sucks but some people here still call him that and then I have to read it again

 

The Edge-iteration of Judgment Day was one of the most forced, uncool things I've seen in wrestling in years and years. Laughably bad. They were smart to pivot out of that FAST. I never thought the current iteration was great, but, at least it was better than that. I'll never completely dismiss it because it made Ripley a massive star.

Definitely think they've outlived their usefulness, though. Especially with Rhea being in the awkward spot she's stuck in currently.

There's a lot you can do with judgement day going forward and you kind of have to.... THIS is now your biggest faction and most consistent angle in the company now (woof).

 

I think we get the Finn jealousy angle coming soon. This Jey thing is just place holder until the draft probably. Maybe a little after once the rosters settle. Wrestlemania isn’t even the big blow off anymore a lot of times that’s backlash now.

 

There was an Uncle Howdy tease on raw? I watched the full show and didn’t even notice
