No... The architects guitarist retweeted some MMA guys interview where he said that. That's what we were talking about a few posts up, is it not? He said it was a mistake and only wanted to retweet where the guy said 'fuck Trudeau',

These guys haven’t had an original thought in years. This looks like a gutless BMTH ripoff from the artwork alone.

Architects: “ok, maybe everyone was right, we can’t write good songs without Tom. Let’s hire someone. I know a guy”

  13. Getting Holy Hell vibes, mixed with the layered guitar/synth production style they've got on the latest two albums, interesting.

Also cool to hear them now record stuff in the guitar tuning they've recently adjusted the Holy Hell and earlier material to live. Makes me hope we'll get some high pitched screamy clean vocals from Sam again.

Yea, this is good. Definitely sounds like the 'good' Architects (though I don't really hate any of their newer stuff, they just have a lane that they're best in).

It sounds like a Bury Tomorrow song. Band has zero originality left.

I don't get this at all as far as a direct comparison, and if it does, Bury Tomorrow most likely took pages from earlier architects and we've come full circle. To me, this new song has got the rhythmic driving guitar from a song like dead man talking off of Lost Forever / Lost Together which definitely was a trend setter / basis album for a lot of the djenty / tight sounding guitar work that followed in the genre after that album. While it has a softer chorus, more production effects / sounds / synths etc then anything on that album, it's a return to the architect sound of that era (at least those are my first impressions).

Whatever you think they sound like, go for it. Band is still a bunch of transphobes and blocking anyone on social media who brings it up is clearly the answer.

Yeah it’s wild how one or two “good” songs is all it takes to move past all of this bands fuckery

Was only commenting on the music. New song is a return to form in my opinion, and most people who have heard an Architects song would say 'yep, that's them'. If you can hear a song and instantly know the band behind it, there's an original enough mark.

I commented above my thoughts on the guitarists retweet. No idea about the rest of band though but I assume you're lumping them all together because they didn't take action with a line up change? I don't know of any past or present fuckery and always thought they were a pretty outspoken, progressive band. Until I waded into this thread with the new tunes, the guitarists retweets didn't even make it to my attention.

clip was better than the rest of the song for me. haven't really cared for their stuff overall in a long time now. there's too many better bands out there that deserve more attention.
