Massive absolutely MASSIVE release day for me:

    Bayside
    The Black Keys
    J. Cole
    Dustin Kensrue
    Vampire Weekend

Also, can someone please tell Tate that Kanye West is a nazi and should really stop being promoted on a site that is supposed to have good morals?

  6. Few things here.

One, I really dislike when people call me "Tate." My name is Jason.

Two, this post is an automated script that grabs the current releases that are coming out from various sources including the spreadsheet from helloiamzach. It's not curated. I don't post about or promote Kanye West, haven't since 2021, and even then it was about album sales.

Third, I find this kind of public "callout" unhelpful. If you have a question, messaging or emailing me is super easy. However, when making "supposed to have good morals" comments (which I think is a completely different conversation when discussing consuming art), I think doing so right after talking about Vampire Weekend a little strange given the accusations surrounding Ezra (not to mention the transphobic lyrics on the J.Cole album). Given that nuance, and that I don't believe people talking about problematic art is actually a bad thing, I hope this answers the question.

e: missed that jason already covered this lol

anyway, Bayside, Erra, Riley!, Alpha Wolf, Stars Hollow, Amblare, red sun, and sleepmakeswaves this week for me. Currently checking out the Between You & Me EP, it's pretty solidly executed but generic pop-punk, might hit the spot while the weather picks up. I'll also be checking out the Dustin Kensrue, Black Keys, Strung Out, and Hawkwind albums, but don't really anticipate digging any of them lol.

Dustin Kensrue. So good love Cowboy western old man tunes.
If you’re a fan check out the Starflyer 59 album The Changing Of The Guard. Similar vibes.

I don’t remember ever listening to Cock Sparrer before, but they showed up in my “Music for You” section on Apple Music and I am really digging it.
