I’m absolutely obsessed, this feels like a breakthrough songwriting-wise for them

almost feels like a continuation of Agnes

A little sad they never evolved their Zaba sound, but happy they're so successful all the same. Parts of the new song I dig, other parts not so much.

Heat Waves Pt 2 but it is really really good pop music. At this point the lyrics seem generic? Or catering to their new audience but they can crank a tune. It's as least interesting as they've been but still sounds good. Hyped for it.

  14. Two for two - the GA Discord had a sneak preview of the video last night and the energy was ridiculous, I really like that place. Davey in the chat and everything!

Eh. First single grew on me, this one hopefully will. I feel like it ended before it went anywhere. These songs both miss that special touch. Not sure if the well is dry but listening to Life Itself after these singles makes me feel that way.

    The rivalry is back on

yeah, I like this one fine; it’s just that what makes HTBAHB so great is that it threads that needle so well of having pop sensibilities but also being so all over the place that you never know what’s coming next, and on Dreamland to some extent and especially on these singles, we lose that unhinged portion and it’s just a safe, calculated Glass Animals-sounding song

  18. Per Dave, there are bigger swings on the album.

This did get me to go back to Dreamland for the first time in a little bit and I forgot how much I like a lot of this album — I don’t think there’s any skips for me on there, and the highlights (Space Ghost, Tokyo Drifting, Incredibly Loud, etc) are as good as anything else they’ve done

I was kind of worried about this album after the singles, which i liked but didnt love, but damn this is some good stuff. The singles are way better in context of the album. Wonderful Nothing is an absolute heater.

Finally had time for another listen — I’m pretty lukewarm on this. I miss the weird; I don’t dislike Dave singing over some mid-tempo pop arrangements but it’s not what gets me excited about them either

with that said, I Can’t Make You Fall In Love Again is a total earworm (reminds me a lot of Domestic Bliss, which was sorely overlooked on the last one) and I hope they push that one hard next

I was pretty thrown off by how similar Show Pony and Creatures in Heaven are, and that they’re so close together on the tracklist
