Always complain if your vinyl is messed up. Unless it’s clearance or something, vinyl purchases are too expensive to just let it slide.

Is it definitely a scratch and not the weird gunk coating that disappears? Might be worth a clean in a spin clean or with some solution if you have something to see first.

 

i agree. check to see if it comes off with some cleaning. sometimes it might be a surface level scuff that doesn't affect playback. if it does, try to get another copy if you can. sometimes when i have a scratch, it's just surface level and not irritating enough to request a refund, but most of the time, it can affect playback, so it's worth reaching out.

 

Thanks, I reached out to Rise. Looks like it’s more than just gunk. It’s such a bummer when you are excited for a particular album and it’s defective. Hoping their customer service makes this an easy process.
