    Trusted

Excited to hear this but still think this is too much of a gimmick for an entire project. First time it’s felt like Beyoncé is chasing a trend and not innovating.

I don't know how you consistently have the most batshit takes, but you do you

I do wonder if some of those are interludes, or two-part songs or something. Saw that Blackbird may be a Beatles cover as well. Lots of mystery

at least a few have to be interludes or shorter songs, especially given that the webstore CD has a bonus track. given what information is correct, we're looking at anywhere between 23 and 28 songs including that cut, and a CD can only hold a max of 80 minutes of audio. i'm here for whatever ends up happening though.

"Jolene" should be on a "you can't cover this song anymore" list. Maybe the most overdone country song on the planet.

listening to previews now. it's more of an interpolation and less of a cover. same tune, but different lyrics in the verses.

these previews are really good so far though. excited to hear the whole thing.

Looking at that track listing, with all those shorter tracks, remembering how perfect the sequencing on her last album was… I can’t wait. Sure is gonna be a Good Friday. :praise:

Using that song in any respect just feels very “country for beginners” for me, which is also how I felt about the very trope-y “Texas Hold Em.” I hope the album is a more interesting exploration/dissection/subversion of the genre, rather than “country as a costume,” which is the vibe I’m getting so far.

from what i'm hearing, the whole album is definitely not that. there's a little bit of trope-y stuff, but not a ton from what i can tell. the softer, more acoustic-driven moments are some of the best. surprised at how good Beyoncé and Miley sound together, tbh.

there are more hidden features here but i'm not entirely sure who they are

I don’t see “exploration” and “costume” as mutually exclusive.

Given some of what she put on RENAISSANCE and how that hung together as an album, I personally feel pretty confident any elements that feel obvious will work contextually.
