I’ll get to Ronin after I finish up DD2.

 

I fucked up that knight in the beginning almost two hours after I started. Lol

 

My wife got stupidly into FFXIV after failed attempts of trying to get her into WoW so I’ll likely rush through the Elden Ring DLC myself so I can level with her in the new expansion. But she’s got a whole fucking lot of catching up to do.

 

My wife is KINDA almost caught up, in the pre-Endwalker patches

Yeah it's a perfect storm, I was hoping to do 3 DLC clears but I think I'll have to settle with 1 before expansion and 2 after

In VG news: been playing a lot of Fortnite and Gears MP. Been hanging out on the PS5 quite a bit checking out some of the recent PS Plus games. Got is great. Might go back to Wo Long and then check out Ronin.

 

I do have to do post-EW too.......

 

I want to play Ronin, but it really doesn't seem like a $70 game, so I'll just sadly wait for a decent sale.

My knee-jerk response is to agree with this, but...

I remember when SNES games ran for 50-60, and now I'm mentally comparing that to something like Elden Ring.

I think, in the end, the content should determine the price point. I'd feel way more comfortable spending that amount on a game like the latter that would last for months than I would a 2D side-scroller.

But $70 is still a lot for one of anything.

 

My stance on day one releases and purchases has gotten even more rigid as of recent. It is the rare occasion where I can justify a $70 game price. I know it is not the same, but wait a couple of months and then get it at a discount.

 

While I agree that games have ballooned in complexity, the audience has also grown substantially, so you can sell a lot more copies of Elden Ring than you could have of, idk, Super Metroid.

also don’t forget there’s none or barely any manufacturing costs involved these days, since except for switch games none of these games ship on carts.

 

The saying that day 1 players are basically beta testers nowadays rings oh so true seeing the quality of games that come out and followup patches within weeks of release to fix player's issues.
