Player’s Log: I’m on chapter 16 in FFVII Remake. Amazing game. The worst part is I can’t afford a $70 game right now to start the new one.

I'm also very curious but I'm also playing it. I'm assuming it maybe has something to do with the fact any NPC can die at anytime because I would think that's game ending if you can't revive them and the quest is then done? Or that quests can have timers so maybe something is missed?

Or something I found frustrating was when you get in the water you die and respawn right? But you respawn to the spot you were at RIGHT BEFORE going in the water and in my case it was down the side of a cliff with nowhere to jump BUT the water so I was literally stuck. Luckily I had a stone to teleport cuz I dunno what is had done otherwise.

  5. I’ll tag it just in case. Spoilers inc obviously

so at some point in the game your pawn gets a disease. it’s briefly mentioned in game. there’s no way to not get the disease and the only way to prevent it is to constantly keep killing your own pawn and every time you use someone else’s pawn, you pass it on to them. if you allow the disease to get to its end stage, the pawn starts a calamity effectively killing every single NPC/quest giver in the major city making it so you cannot do anymore quests (I guess in theory you could spend hundreds of dollars in the game shop to revive each NPC one by one but that would take so long)

I looked it up because I was curious, and I'm not sure how avoidable getting picked up by a drake is, but the article makes it sound like that's what causes it, and if you kill your pawn once and revive them, they should be free of the disease. I guess until they get picked up by another drake.

Loving my Steam Deck. I got Helldivers 2 running on it at mostly low settings but it honestly looks fine and plays great. What an intense game lol.

also paid for a month of GeForce Now so I could play pacific drive and my gamepass/intensive steam games on it. This rocks.

I will say, Stray, the first game I opened up my on Deck, blew me away visually but the game itself is sort of whatever.

Ugh I want to pick up Dragon’s Dogma 2 so bad. I’ve been doing good though with not starting new games without finishing current ones. I’m 35 hours into FF7 Rebirth but I’m only halfway through so I’m gonna wrap that up first.

yeah you should be good. you get thrust into the deep end of lore immediately with every single one of those games tbh. you kinda figure it out as you go but they’re dense af. even 1 starts out like this too. but 3 is actually the first in the timeline of the series. I’d recommend playing 1,2,3 or 3,1,2 to anybody. I’d only recommend the other games in the series (regardless of chronology) after playing those three - I’m not much a fan of the ones post 3. 2 is my favorite from both a gameplay and story perspective, then 3.

    Player's Log: Trails Into Reverie.

I'm in the final act, where all roads converge. I reached the point where the first half of the fourth stratum of the True Reverie Corridor unlocked, and now I'm in there side-questin'.

Realized last week that the SSS version of the Beach Vacay was DLC, so I bought it and played through it so Lloyd could get his mac on.

Anyway, I'm calling it now that I should have this game finished at the very least over next weekend. Maybe sooner, but I don't want to rush myself.

Once I'm done, I'll only have one more Trails game to play through: Boundless Trails.

I got it and have played a couple hours, as a big fan of Sekiro I like how they implemented deflections in the combat. Combat deff has a Team Ninja feel but is supposed to be a bit more slow and strategic which I find fun. I'm just getting to the open world and it's by no means an amazing open world map but it is plenty good enough to enjoy.

    I'm having fun.

  22. i've had a cold the past few days so I haven't played HFW in as long a session at a time as I would like, but I'm loving it so far, obviously. Just finished the tutorial mission. I missed this, running around, picking up herbs, shooting arrows at robots.

Hope you enjoy it, I loved it. Never got around to the DLC although I recently bought it on sale so I'll get around to it sometime. It's still imo the most beautiful PS5 game, Guerilla is a league above everyone else.

DD2 is a fucking treat. The random encounters and possibilities are bonkers. I was high up on a mountain and a golem/Titan appeared and he was huge! Luckily not that many HP bars, easy fight. Fights going smooth, whittling down it's HP but I noticed I'm running out of open ground to run around an avoid attacks. Ah, I see room up top of the cliff. Run up there, avoiding attacks and WHOOSH a giant ass griffon comes out of nowhere because some NPC was shooting arrows at it and now I have 2 giant ass beasts on my ass.

Yeah that didn't go smooth. At all.

I LOVE this game. The giant monsters are a treat and every encounter is different. I've only managed to take down minotaurs, cyclops, a giant monkey looking thing but griffons still give me trouble. Saw that smol dragon that was in the preview vids that's in some valley with some other mobs, I think orcs. Steered away from that.

One thing I do like is when you borrow other people's pawns, they'll tell you they know where treasure chests or hidden dungeons are from their other travels and they'll take you to them if you command them to. I'm level 20 now, nearing the end of the first main story arc in the first main city. I haven't gotten tired of the backtracking, no fast travel yet. Enemies and mats spawn, perfect time to get exp and stuff and just explore.
