checked out the single despite barely listening to anything they’ve done since foundations of burden. it’s alright, hardly any metal in it though which is not exactly the direction I would prefer from them. maybe rest of the album digs in deep but the heavy doom side of their sound has always been what does it for me

 

I definitely still prefer FoB to a lot of their other work. However their recent album Forgotten Days was really good imo

 

I just went back and listened to it and yeah I dig this a lot. I had a lot going on in 2020 so I didn’t spend much time with it lol

 

This is probably the most niche post I could imagine, but I just found out that the vocalist from Fall of Efrafa, the entirely Watership Down themed neocrust band, was/is more recently a part of Urskek, an entirely Dark Crystal themed doom band.

idk I just think that rules.

 

New Dödsrit album is up

 

On a Gojira kick today. From Mars to Sirius, L’Enfant Sauvage, and Magma are my go to’s. I’m assuming Terra, The Link, and The Way of All Flesh are goats as well?

 

I love From Mars to Sirius, The Way of All Flesh, and Magma. Only listened to L’Enfant Sauvage once, but thought it was pretty good. Didn’t like the last one and ever listened to the first two.

If you’ve never listened to The Way of All Flesh, you gotta. Some of their best songs are on that one

 

Yeah I figured The Way of All Flesh was good I’ve heard it is. Agree about their latest. Didn’t not enjoy it but just kinda sits in the middle for me.

 

The latest one has some cool moments, but I don’t find most of the songs to be particularly memorable and there are some absolute duds on there. Was very disappointed with it

 

Way over on the mathy chaotic end, really digging this, FFO DEP, Callous Daoboys, Meshuggah and the Armed.

for anyone that has seen Fugitive lately, (I'm assuming @riotspray maybe) have they been playing any Power Trip songs? gonna see them on Saturday in SA

 

I saw them most recently back in January and they did not, but I think that was prior to their first show back.

 

They don’t according to my friend who saw them at SXSW

Power Trip without Riley still feels weird as hell to me tbh.

 

I thought about it and from the other band members perspective it makes sense to want to carry on but it’s hard to get fans on board. bands move on with new vocalists all the time but when death is involved it gets touchy. although maybe it’s a vocalist thing because slipknot moved on with a new bassist after Paul gray died so idk. Easier to swallow when it’s not the voice of the band I guess
