Was able to grab tickets to the Saturday Dallas show. It is also my birthday weekend wow

 

Grabbed some 300 level tickets for Tampa. Doesn’t seem to be selling pretty fast, definitely didn’t need that presale code. Super excited for this though.

 

I might get cheap nosebleeds cause I have a feeling I'm gonna like this album a lot more than her last and her performance was lovely when I saw her open for harry styles a few years ago. But my concert budget is diminishing lol

 

Doing a discography run and I always think of the School of Rock songs when listening to "Step Off." Never knew if it was intentional or not

In the context of her other albums, it may not hit the top, but in the context of Christmas albums, A Very Kacey Christmas is one of the best modern holiday albums

 

one of my coworkers spotted the album out early at our local Barnes & Noble. they didn't buy it (and i'm not gonna consider it until i've heard it), but it's nice to know it's out there in the wild.

It seems to be pretty good! First impression has it sitting in between Golden Hour and Star Crossed from a sound perspective, definitely more on the subdued and pulled back side of things. "Anime Eyes" gets kind of wacky, but it otherwise felt like a really cozy record, even played pretty loudly in the store. I'm excited to listen with headphones over the next few days.

 

that's exciting! I was hoping for a more laid back album, some lush production, and hopefully maybe some minimal electronics? maybe some vocoder effects on a couple tracks?

 

I just want some fun wordplay that she is known for

 

"Sway" is immediately in the "impossibly gorgeous Kacey Musgraves songs" hall of fame.

 

6 songs in and already this is so much more enjoyable than StarCrossed.

 

It’s great. Low key and really pretty. Nothing splashy about it, and I imagine some will mistake it for boring. But I really liked it on 2-3 listens.

 

I'm really digging "Lonely Millionaire". Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk are finding some nice sounds here.

It's definitely AAA/MOR friendly, but that isn't a bad thing. Not sure how so many of these songs in a row will go over in arenas unless you're blissing out.
