finally got RE8 Winters Expansion, for ten bucks!

by the wayyy, while there's this Capcom sale, y'all should check out Remember Me. DONTNOD (Life is Strange) made this action game that I think is really cool.

oh oh also also, Black Book (the deckbuilder campaign game I'm currently playing) is also on sale for ten bucks

Trying to balance what little free time I have between Infinite Wealth (at the 55 hour mark!), Balatro, Resident Evil 4 and Helldivers II is a tough fucking task.

Made it to the last round of Balatro again and the ante disabled the joker I was relying on for my very last hand and it completely fucked me - I would have had it if it disabled ANY other joker. Ugh.

Player's Log: Trails Into Reverie.

I took a break for a bit and now I just can't find my way out of True Reverie Corridor because there's so much content in this place it's crazy. Side stories, dungeons, trial battles, missions, minigames, etc.

Right now I'm doing the minigame called Beachside Vacay, which is basically the beach episode they couldn't find a way to work into the main game proper.

It's also where players can scratch that bonding content itch, as there's a "minigame" where you share a drink with one of the female characters and enter a conversation. If you make the right conversation choices, you end up in what the game calls an "intimate moment", where you can trigger various responses depending on where you're looking.

Yes, that means what it sounds like. It happens to be the one portion of the game where you can activate VR Mode. No, I'm not thrilled about it either. Falcom, begging you to take a cold shower.

Anyway, the beach episode also has a very fun banana boat minigame with three courses that make me miss the days of Wave Race and Hydro Thunder.

Finally, there is watermelon smashing, because why not.

 

Player's Log: Trails Into Reverie.

Done most of the aforementioned bonding scenes for the achievements and lols, and it's somewhat less pervy than I made it sound above.

Turns out there are only three things you can focus on during the "intimate moment", one being an object like a phone or a drink, another being their face, and the third being their chest, the latter of which I have not done because my Rean is a gentleman and not a degenerate.

That said, just did Laura's scene and her reactions to sharing a drink are super adorable, especially her voice cracking at the end. Laura is best girl.

 

Ugh. I finished all the activities on the beach for the achievement and then tried to exit to the Reverie Corridor and my game crashed. I loaded an auto-save, had to redo Juna and Alisa's scenes, and then tried to exit and the game crashed again.

Clearly the game is upset with me. Unfortunately, I work tomorrow so I can't spend any more time on this tonight.

 

Multiversus return video coming at some point today.

Can't wait to get back into as it's the only game I'm good at!!!

I finally did it! I can stop complaining!

I skipped the first two blinds of the last ante, which was a slight gamble because there was no guarantee I was going to get a flush with the suit I needed, and managed to beat the final with my FIRST hand which scored 206,312.

I’m so happy.

 

I gotta say I've been loving Black Book more and more the further I get into it. Beautiful storytelling/worldbuilding/folklore, and the card battles are pretty darn cool too. The art style took a while to grow on me but some of the landscapes and places you visit on your journey are simply breathtaking. Probably my only gripe is I don't like the voice acting I kind of wish there was an option to have it in Russian like you can switch Blasphemous to Spanish. Or maybe that's been available all along and I just missed it...

I think I might do a "good" run just to play this in Russian

Agreed. I do not want to buy a PS5 just to play the remastered version of these. Would be cool to see them do concurrent releases on PC in the future, but that's a pipe dream.

 

Give them a break, it’s their last claim to fame before they officially go third party.
