I don't hate Under the Boards if this is in reference to what I said, and on Daybreak the only thing I am not a fan of is the vocals, which admittedly do a fair amount to drag that album down for me. My least favorite Saves the Day album is still a good Saves the Day album ((imo, obviously))

also YEAH re:Glassjaw, like. Shattered??? nice

Oh no I just meant in general you're good. Seems like some other communities and fans in general don't care for the post SWYA material which is a shame.

And yeah you can tell that little bit of Glassjaw influence seeped in on Sound The Alarm and UTB to an extent.

It's just the lyrics. The music is awesome.

I've actually never listened to Glassjaw because I heard their lyrics were super misogynistic, but then i found out that was just their early stuff. Still forgot to give them a listen though. but I am pretty sure I know what they're about musically.
I think the lyrics are super simplistic in relation to their pre UTB -- like in general it's a lot more show don't tell -- but I don't remember them being awful

Under The Boards is definitely not my favorite STD album but there are some gems there for sure.

Particularly "Can't Stay the Same" which might have one of their best hooks ever and "Get Fucked Up"

the title track of daybreak + undress me are enough for me to love that album.

God Undress Me is so fucking good. Probably their best closer

That's one area where I think StD always succeeds. Ever since SWYA their closers have been awesome.

To be fair, Jodie and banned from the back porch are really solid songs and closers aheh.

For some odd reason, "Banned from the Back Porch" never synched to my computer and I went about a year thinking the eponymous track was the closer. It worked really well as one, too, even though I do enjoy the real closer now.

Until reading this I also thought Through Being Cool was the closer. I honestly don't think I want to listen to Banned From the Back Porch now lol. Don't need my world to be shattered like that after 10+ years of listening to the album one way.

This was the same for me. Maybe we both ended up initially getting TBC from the same sketchy megaupload link aggregate

You were all shortchanged by the same files. You were all had.

Fun fact: Eben and Chris Conley were having issues while Chris was having his own troubles. The rest of the band went with Chris to therapy minus Eben. Eventually both Eben and Chris knew what had to be done. ..
