If I was going to make up a beverage, I wouldn't put dusty ass flowers you make a wish with, and then something ive never heard of in it. It is in fact an absurdly named British beverage (though it's as straight to the point as you can get). From what I remember, it tastes just like root beer, but the internet is making me question my memory with Americans who tried it and said wtf is this.

Either way - root beers suck so do all kinds of 'floats'. Ice cream and soda? no thank you.

Half the people in my social circle work in the microbrewery industry in some fashion, if I said "all beer tastes the same" i would probably get jumped and then waterboarded with a Double IPA .
