Yeah I'll prob pick these up. I have them on my PS Vita digitally so although while I do prefer physical, depending on how these compare graphics wise I wouldn't mind having on a more current handheld.

This trilogy alongside Megadimension Neptunia compose of the "main" games, so them showing interest in reviving people's interest hopefully means production has finished on a proper sequel.

    Player's Log: Trails Into Reverie.

I'm in Act 2, and while Act 1 let me complete Lloyd, Rean, and C's routes one by one, Act 2 is where things start happening in tandem.

As such, I was only able to complete Lloyd's route to a certain point before needing to play as Rean, and now I've hit a point where Rean and Lloyd's routes are in the exact same location, so things are getting trippy.

I also feel for Juna. Can't people stop occupying Crossbell? This is like the third fucking time. Just stop already.

  10. About 75% through SFV general story there's suddenly a difficulty spike, and it's not like the plot was very good up until that point. It's cool that a Street Fighter game even has cut scenes and you see the characters interact but that's about it. The writing for the individual character stories is better than all this jumping around meaninglessly. NetherRealm does this so much better. Can't see the point in continuing if every fight is essentially a boss fight I can't beat and have to skip to see the cutscenes. There's not even a difficulty slider.

Wrapped up Ghost Trick and I cannot believe that Sissel was a cat the whole time and Old Missile had set everything into motion. Had a very good time with the game overall.

Next in my neverending quest to play the games I missed or didn't finish as a kid, I'm starting a fresh playthrough of Baten Kaitos.

    Player's Log: Trails Into Reverie.

I'm now exploring the main hook of this entry, which is the True Reverie Corridor. It's similar to Phantasma from Sky The 3rd, except instead of the game revolving around it with little vignettes throughout, there is still a larger ongoing story happening in the outside world, with the Reverie Corridor being more of a side component, while also still having said vignettes.

It's an interesting way of doing things. The idea seems to be that in the main storyline, everyone is broken into three different teams, but in the Corridor, everyone can work together. The dungeons in the Corridor can be randomized to an extent, and there are still the doors with vignettes and minigames like in 3rd. Right now I'm seeing a side story involving a couple of the new cast members.

On the subject of minigames, they put an entire rail shooter in here that casts characters as magical girls and it is both awesome and adorable and could arguably be its own game. Beat the first chapter, more chapters are sure to unlock as I keep playing the main game.

And god help me, there is also a gacha component where you collect silver spheres in the Corridor that you can then spend to pull items, some of which are rare costumes and etc. Useless as far as the game goes, but that's how gachas roll, baby.

I feel weird being the next person to post right after my last post. What's up VG thread?

Anyway, I'm stopping for tonight in Act 3, playing as C currently since I can't play as anyone else until I hit a certain point.

This game's main plot only has four acts and a finale, and at the rate I'm going, I'm wondering if the main plot is fairly short and the bulk of the game is made up of all the shit in the Reverie Corridor and the side stories. It wouldn't surprise me.

I did a little reading and it sounds like there's a lot of shit that I'm going to unlock in that Corridor. More dungeons, unique fights, all kinds of stuff. I'm excited and also kind of not if it's at the expense of a larger plot, but I'm digging the story being told right now, so I feel like I shouldn't complain.

The one thing I do miss is that in previous games, you're able to go back to previous cities at certain points to see what's new and etc. I feel like here, since the plot is divided into three routes, it's a little more on rails. Like I don't see myself going back to Ymir or Heimdallr in the future, which I'm kind of sad about. But then, it is what it is.

My fervent interest in Balatro is starting to wane a bit, but I got 7 wins and 30 hours out of it so far, so that was money well spent.
