thoughts on headliners only playing for 1 hour?

 

depends on who it is imo

 

For me, the only reason a headline act should play less than 1 hour is because they only have 1 album. And even then, I have seen acts on their debut tour playing covers and B-Sides to extend their set to 1.15 hours.

 

If Cigarettes After Sex is doing an arena tour, there’s no way I see TOP downgrading venue sizes. They’ll be fine

 

TOP still has a strong following. At this point, unless they put out an album that really alienates fans, they’re set on arenas for the rest of their career

 

Genuinely don’t know if I’ve ever been to a show that was over by 10

 

The Observatory in OC does this, but the first show ends before 11 and then the second show ends at like 2 in the morning. I couldn’t fathom going to a show that late… To me it makes the most sense to push everything up a few hours early. Donate first show early evening and then the second show can be out at 11 or something

 

Granted, I doubt there’s lots of fans of EDM in here, but I can’t imagine going to see a show and walking out before 9pm. Something about the late night club culture is part of the draw.

 

I've been to the royale a ton and have never had a show end at 9:30

Local opener 7:55-8:25
Reflections 8:35-9:05
Angelmaker 9:20-10:05

then Militarie Gun a few days later went on early and was done by 10:15

then the next night
Vespid 7:30-7:55
BRAT 8:05-8:30
Take Offense 8:40-9:05
Escuela Grind 9:25-10:05

it was a good week

 

Last night I saw Two Door Cinema Club / Joywave. Left my house at 7 & was in the photo pit 20 min before Joywave, left right before 2 door encored, & was home before 11. Not mad about it!

Doors: 7
Joywave: 8-8:45
Two Door Cinema Club: 9:15-10:40

 

Saw Glassjaw on a Monday night once and they finished at like midnight lol

 

worst recent one for me was Angel Du$t, show started at like 9pm for some reason and AD didn't hit the stage until 11:30ish

 

I think that tour had a lot of that. Philly show was advertised as starting at 7:30….started at 8:30. AD hit the stage at like 10:50

Got my tickets for SoCo at the box office! No fees and didn’t have to worry about it selling out so damn fast!

Not surprising, but SoCo Orlando sold out. I think they only held back a handful of tickets for the generic sale today.

 

Speaking of matinees….

 

Im poking around at all these SoCo shows on Ticketmaster and it looks like the entire tour is already sold out.
They REALLY underestimated their demand. And the way the tour routing is currently set up they wont be able to add second nights anywhere unless they do a whole new leg of the tour.
