i get decidueye(awesome name, maybe one of the best pokemon names ever) and incineroar's signature moves, but i dont get the upside of primarina's.

 

I'm definitely behind Decidueye and Primarina, but I still can't stand Incineroar and it's wrestling-schtick. The Grass/Ghost and Water/Fairy typings are super exciting too.

Also, why "Red and Blue", and not "Ash and Gary"?

 

That seals it, I'm picking the grass starter for the first time.

 

Red and blue have always been the game characters names

 

The only thing I can think of is something with Guts.

 

Weird. I thought I remembered their default names being Ash and Gary.

 

So glad it's not another fire/fighting type

I was already planning on going with rowlet, doesn't look like that's gonna change. Ghost typing came outta nowhere tho

 

Ugh I was always going to get Litten but I like the look of the emo owl and I love water/fairy as a typing... I don't think I've ever found it this hard to choose my first starter

 

I'm definitely going with Rowlet now. Decidueye's flipping Robin Hood.

 

Primarina is such an amazing name. Mostly because Marina and the Diamonds have a song called Primadonna Girl.

 

Didn't expect the ghost type

 

The typing is a bit strange in that:
Fairy hits 2x Dark
Dark hits 2x Ghost
Ghost hits even Fairy

 

Fairy should be weak to ghost, it's pretty overpowered right now with only two weaknesses

 

And both of fairies weaknesses aren't exactly the most common offensive types. It definitely needs another weakness imo.

 

I do hope they make Fairy weak to ghost. It needs another weakness without a doubt.

 

Hell yes I'm all about Primarina being water fairy

 

even ghost isn't the most common, but at least it woud open up the meta a little.

Weak to ghost and fire makes some sense, maybe psychic. I do hope they do some balancing, I hate clefables.

 

Tapu Fini is my favorite of the four.

 

of course my favorite starter was secretly ghost type all along, theyre my favorite mons even when i dont know theyre ghost. hoping the anchor is just steel/water now since i would have 3 ghost types in my team
