Feel like it’s a guaranteed switch 2 launch title

 

I don't see why Nintendo would release any new first party game that's not a port or a remaster between now and the launch of the Switch 2

 

Sega should stop being cowards and remake skies of arcadia

 

Yeah I agree that it’s probably being pushed but just thought it was interesting to share since they announced it years ago.

 

This reminds me Showtime is only a month away!

Metroid Prime is a b-tier Nintendo franchise at best in terms of sales (actually probably c-tier). Nintendo fans in the west always overrated its appeal. Especially Japan doesn’t give a fuck. It’s not a good launch title, unless it is accompanied by an actual flagship game.

EDIT: So it would be a fine late Switch game. However, I don’t think it will be done in time lol

 

Metroid slaps though

 

Metroid is good but it’s not a system seller

 

3D-Metroid is super washed imo

 

It would be interesting to see Nintendo try to turn Metroid into a system seller though. Dread is already the best selling game in the series (I believe). Go for broke.

Yeah and it sold like 1.5 Milli last time I checked.

(edit: it sold 3 mil. That’s actually hella impressive for what it is)

esp now with so many other games doing Metroid better than Metroid, maybe it’s time to let this franchise go.

I think 2D Metroid is in a great place and frankly does better numbers than anyone could have hoped for, so I think it’s healthy franchise, just not top tier

 

at this point I wanna see Nintendo do more ambitious projects, the 2D-Metroid space is well served by indies.

 

Oh, I don't disagree. It's certainly a harder sell than Mario and Zelda, but I think there's a reality where it could have been if done right and consistently.

Dread sold pretty well this time right? I don't recall fully but I thought it was really high selling for the franchise which is good.

 

Also obviously the new Mario game is going to be the launch title for the Switch 2, right? Odyssey was a long time ago

Anyone played Pentiment on Switch yet? Any performance or other issues with the port? Debating between PS5 and Switch, but it's definitely the type of game which would be better handheld for me.

I agree about Metroid, Nintendo diehards love it, the casuals who make up the bulk of the people who buy the system do not care. I think the only Nintendo IPs big enough now to be launch titles are 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, 3D Zelda, and Animal Crossing.

LoZ and AC are still too soon, we won't get a new SSB for awhile. So it'll probably be 3D Mario or a new Mario Kart. Maybe just maybe a new 3D Donkey Kong game could be big enough deal too.

 

Pokemon would be wild too, but that's not happening
