  1. According to my discogs, I don't have Good Charlotte's first album, but I am 99.9999% sure I actually have it... time to go through my entire shelf... ugh haha.

If your shelf is organized well it should only take one second to check!

Hold strong people! If we convince the entire internet not to purchase those Good Charlotte records, maybe UO will eventually knock them down to $10 like they did for The Used's self titled ;-)

I already bought three of them a few months ago

  6. Nothing I really want, thank goodness. For UO sales I try to stick to only artists I already listen to--unless I'm at the store and they're doing the extra 40% on top of clearance. I got four this way in just the past two weeks. So like, I've bought quite a few records blind, and fortunately haven't had it backfire before.

I don’t think I’ve ever blind bought a record before. I’ve pre-ordered records that weren’t out yet by well established favorites of mine but that’s different haha

  8. There’s a record store here that does paper bag blind 7” records for a few bucks. They write the genre on it but that’s all. Pretty fun!

And also, I love blind buying a couple punk 7” records when I travel places and check out local record shops. I have a whole YouTube channel dedicated to those.

One of my favourite things to do at a record store - buying something on the strength of the album cover alone. Usually older stuff but a great way to discover new (to me) music. Definitely hit or miss but the hits are worth it.

updated my inventory spreadsheet and realized i just hit the big eight-oh. and to think i only started getting into vinyl because long beard's sleepwalker didn't have a cd release

i heard there's a randomizer on discogs but i don't have my collection on there so instead i figured out i can just roll d100 (explanation for the cool kids: that's basically two 10-sided dice, 0-9 and 00-90) and reroll the d% if I get over 80

edit: it's actually 89, 80 didn't include the soundtracks and boxsets

  11. i basically do this in UO's clearance section when I'm feeling adventurous, except i also look up a bit about the artist, particularly their gender, bc i have this weird thing where i don't check out new-to-me male artists, ever since the allegations re: Brand New.

not the same thing, but i purchased my copy of Daisy the day before the allegations broke, so it's only ever been spun once, followed by the news 2 hours later.

  14. I remember right after all that went down UO started slinging all of their Science Fiction records for $5

Been a tad low key recently on the forums but still seeing what everyone is chatting about!

I went and saw Japanese singer Ichiko Aoba in Toronto last night. I will say I've been to hundreds of concerts and it was one of the best performances I've ever seen! She sold out all her merch! It was insane.

She had her most recent album on vinyl and it was signed. I waited over an hour in the merch line. But it was well worth it! It sounds immaculate!

Apparently PO's for the new Bayside drops today? I honestly haven't followed this band since Sirens and Condolences and the ST. But know they've been churning out solid albums. I should jump back on the wagon.... Anyways if you're waiting for it, it's coming soon!

I don't use it either but it sure looks like they teased something. So that's probably it! Unless it's one of their exclusive drops. But it's probably Bayside.
