i use subtitles because i look at my phone while watching tv and movies. other explanations are cope or from old people

 

I use subtitles more frequently these days because sooo many movies are whisper quiet and then BLARINGLY LOUD. if i use subtitles, i can keep the volume compromised.

but with comedies/standup specials, i don't use subtitles because half the time it gives away the jokes and that bothers me to no end.

 

Yeah I use subtitles on everything I watch and have for a long time.

 

I kind of wish they had the names of the characters hover over their heads.

Every time I watch a Game of Thrones episode I don't know who half the people are so I start looking up the people on Wikipedia. I generally don't care about spoilers but when you look up a character and they say "was" or "were" you know what is coming.

 

I concur and it would be amazing, but it'll never happen because Amazon owns IMDB, which is where they pull the data from. Fairly certain they're not licensing one of their Prime Video features.

One thing kids these days won’t understand is that people once had arguments over fullscreen and widescreen.

 

I never understood people who didn’t like widescreen.

 

So many of us were fullscreen-pilled. We feared change.

 

Update: It looks like Tenet is playing in like a handful of theaters. Grimace must be laughing like the woman at the end of Inglorious Basterds.
