Came back to say “Don’t Lie” is the best VW song and one of the best songs of the 10’s.

This seems like it could be on par with contra, their universally-regarded best record

Album announcements without a single just kill me. Give the people what they want.

Vampire Weekend is one of the few bands I am happy to hit play on release day and know it is going to be amazing. I will not be able to resist listening to the singles when they drop, but I like that the release is only two months out. The 6+ month slow drip of info and songs is a bummer to me.

Ezra was living out his Jam Band fever dream. I think those songs were made to be played live. That record is cool and it was a good move to do a live album. I think people rank it lower because it took so long for a follow-up. Fans will warm up to it more as an era of the band when it isn't the most recent thing out.

Spun Frog on the Bass Drum Vol. 2 yesterday and agreed; the fellas were cooking with gas on that Father of the Bride tour. I wish more non-jam bands would take notes from that tour: extended jams (that NEW DORP NEW YORK and Sunflower!), inspired covers, song mashups, lengthy shows, etc.
