so I did an Apple Vision Pro demo today and it was the first wow moment I've gotten from Apple since the original iPhone. It was very emotional and awe-inspiring. The technology and hardware is incredible and learning the gestures was pretty intuitive. I just don't have the time to use a device like this right now but the potential here is awesome and I can't wait till gen 2 or gen 3.

I've definitely been taking every video of my son in spatial video however so that when I get one of these and he's like 6 or 7 I can re-live those memories

 

Are the demos taking place in the middle of the store or are there more of a secluded space? I'm sure it differs from store to store (i'm doing mine at The Grove in LA) but was curious?

I scheduled a demo for next week. Very stoked to try it in person.

Yea that looks great, especially the calendar which is probably the most outdated native app I keep on the device imo

 

Had my Vision Pro demo today. It's definitely the future. Amazing. I saw the flaws, and I see those being worked out within a few generations. I was speechless during parts, and it felt surreal seeing Environments for the first time. I love that the main one everyone sees in the demo is Mt. Hood. Nice seeing Oregon there. She also let me get a peek at the Joshua Tree one, which was also stunning. I'm going to start shooting Spatial Videos now that I've seen how they're viewed in the device. They were emotional. Movies look superb. I've seen this prediction in a few reviews and I agree: Long-term this thing cannibalizes the iPad. It serves a lot of the same functions, but it's an evolution of that concept (which makes sense since iPadOS was the building block for visionOS).

Not worth buying first-get unless you've got the cash to burn. I want to say I'll hold out for the fourth gen, but I know by third gen I'll be chomping at the bit for one of these. We need some kind of massive battery innovation so we can start powering devices for much longer than currently possible.

 

Yup, I feel a lot of the same here. Had my demo on Friday.
I just kept going "holy shit" over and over. It was surreal. Just using my hands to click something, or how immersed I felt in things while not worrying what I'm missing around me, it just felt fake in the coolest way. I agree this thing definitely feels like the future.

 

I called it last year that this will be the future for sure.

Can’t wait till all these YouTubers doing those home workspace videos will just have a desk with an Apple Vision Pro on it in a few years haha.

 

I definitely recommend anyone who can go to do the demo. The videos online are good but don't do it justice whatsoever.

 

I won a pair of Airpods Max in a Super Bowl squares pool I was in. Have Momentum 4s and Airpod Pro 2s, but looking forward to them nonetheless.

 

I bought a pair of AirPods Max, and actually bought a pair for my wife for Valentine’s Day - Anyone know of a good case that is more protective than the included Smart Case, and that has the same power off feature?

They’re incredibly comfortable which is rare for me because I have an obscenely large head. And they have the best noise-cancellation and transparency I have ever heard.

I wish that said "from the iPhone 13 mini." I am very much in the waiting for a new SE camp, but would way prefer something small. iPhone 5 was the best size sorry not sorry

Day 1 iPhone 15 Pro. Somehow still at 100%, which is very surprising considering how heavy a user I am. My 14 Pro was at like 94% by this time last year
