Was Hella Mega dragged down by Covid? I can't remember.

Green Day has been in the mainstream press in a variety of ways. PR team putting in work.

Yeah, it was originally supposed to be summer of 2020.

 

Not sure it was dragged down but they went ahead with it in summer 2021 which, if everyone can remember, was a really weird time for shows to be happening as there was just so much uncertainty about vaccine effectiveness, what was safe and the viewpoints of wearing masks at shows or not. Add that to the fact that all bands/crew were expected to test negative on a DAILY BASIS regardless of symptoms, definitely compounded the general feel of shows.

Yeah my group was on the fence about hitting the LA date with it being at Dodger Stadium and all. We ended up going and masking up and all and it was a great time. I’m sure we weren’t the only ones in that camp

 

PURE SPECULATION:

I could see 100% a Turnstile/Idles co-headliner doing hockey arenas

 

Speaking of a good selling tour that had some doubt in the beginning

 

I could see them doing VFW’s and community centers but that’s only in my imagination

do their fanbases generally overlap? I like both bands but def have to think Turnstile skews wayyyy younger, Idles are one of those bands that seem to have fans that are firmly in the 35-45 range. Lots of dads in Idles shirts at shows ha.

 

There was doubt? The tour has a great lineup. I certainly didn’t think it’d go bad…

 

Any more info? My wife is a huge fan and was telling me the other day she wants to see them again ASAP

 

A decent amount of "FOB just toured all last summer, it's too soon" comments along that line

 

Speaking of Turnstile today marks the 10 year anniversary of the first time I saw them at a skatepark with turnover and Angel Du$t. Absolutely wild the trajectory they’ve had since.

 

They’re due for a new album soon, right? It’s crazy to think Glow On is 3 this year. I do wonder what’s next for them

 

One of my favorite shows was seeing Turnstile in a 150 cap skate shop in Dearborn. Shit went OFF.

 

I just realized its been a week since MCS leaked that Four Chord poster and it still hasnt been officially announced. Wonder what the hold up is.
