Ska! This line-up is looking really solid already with a lot of diversity in sounds across the board.

I would hope so. They are my wife's favorite band and we had tickets to see them right before the pandemic which of course was cancelled and they've been quiet since.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

I’d also assume the same for Cage The Elephant

Looks like San Francisco, Toronto, and Boston are all sold out! I knew the Boston date was selling pretty okay... But a sellout this far in advance is surprising to me.

Still scratching my head that this Green Day tour seems to be doing (at least initially) better than Hella Mega ticket-sales wise.

Haven't bought my Green Day ticket yet for Detroit but I bought parking for $10 because I learned my lesson in 2021 when everything in town was $40-50.

Maybe cause there's no Weezer on this tour

Hella Mega had FOB as co-headliner, which I feel like have a much younger crowd than SP and Rancid.

Green Day, SP, and Rancid…while all being a little bit different genre wise they were all part of that alt-rock surge in the early 90s. It tracks that this would sell better with SP in the direct support slot.

Yeah it definitely will be a big hit with middle age guys (raises hand) but there seems to be some animosity between the GD and SP fans and not the same amount of crossover that one would imagine. Nevertheless, happy the tour is doing well.

I don't get "sold out!" when I can go on Ticketmaster for the SF Green Day show and select some "standard" tickets from the seating chart.

If all that was left was 'Platinum' tickets, then sure, but it's not technically "sold out" yet if there are so many scattered Standard tix still available ...

my local stop on the green day tour is one of the smaller, no-pumpkins shows, and it still has plenty, especially not knowing how full either the pit or lawn is yet. perosnally Im holding out for 25 dollar concert week lawn ticket

Oops... I definitely meant to put this in thee tour-specific thread. But here we are. I'm honestly a little surprised too! I think the pairing of Green Day, FOB, and Weezer was far more cohesive than this one. Like we've talked about before, I think adding another 90s punk band about Rancid's size would have made this tour a bit more palatable to your average fan on paper.

But it seems to be doing okay! I'd imagine the album plays have a lot more to do with that over any of the openers, though. Especially because it's Green Day's two biggest (and both have like, three generations of fans at this point).
