They’ve said a few times that after the cycle for The Record wrapped up they’d each do another solo record. I think “foreseeable future” really just means that they don’t yet know how long they’ll need to write, record, release, and tour their next solo outings, so they don’t want to put a timeline on it. I’m sure Boygenius will pick back up again in a few years.

 

Oh, I know that the plan was always to return to solo stuff. I just wish they would've left the light on a little bit: "Goodbye ... for now." Something like that.

 

I feel like that’s basically what “foreseeable future means though”. Not anytime soon, but they will definitely be back
